Default Renaissance Fort Lauderdale

Does anyone have any experience with this particular hotel they could share?

I booked it using Marriott Reward points. It looks fairly close to the piers. Does it have shuttle service to the piers? Airport?

Also, are there restuarants/shops nearby?

We're getting in late afternoon, so sightseeing will probably not be an option.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

We stayed at this hotel last year. We found it to be very nice. It has a small room with some work out things (I know there were treadmills) and an outdoor pool. It is fairly close to the pier. We couldn't see the pier from our room, but we could from the end of the hall. It did not offer shuttle service to the pier, but did offer service from the airport. We also arrived in the afternoon and we did have some time to walk around. We ate dinner at an Outback Steakhouse. We also found the grocery store (large one), drugstore (CVS I believe), a clothing store, dive shop etc. Walking around keeps you busy for awhile. We booked this hrough Princess last year, and will definately stay there again, but book it ourselves.

A nice close restaurant is the 15th Street Fisheries. Also, you could walk across the 17th Street Bridge and go to the Hyatt rotating lounge in the tower for a Sunset Drink. It is beautiful to just watch the ships set sail.
