Default Where to stay in Vancouver?

Need a hotel for one night before cruise to Alaska. Preferably a hotel with shuttle service to the Canal Place port. Any suggestions? Thank you. Linda

Hi Loulani, I am from the Vancouver area. Someone I know did the Priceline thing and got the Hyatt Regency downtown for US$75. That hotel is a short taxi to Canada Place cruise terminal. You could also walk there if you did not have any luggage!!! I just recently phoned some of the nicer downtown hotels and their prices were quite $$$;but remember US$ is worth more than the Cdn$. There are a lot of quite nice hotels in the downtown area;not sure if any have a shuttle;taxi would not be too expensive though;depends on what you want to pay for the 1 night. Email me if I can be of anymore help. Brenda in Vancouver

Try bidding a 4* hotel for downtown Vancouver. All the 4* Vancouver hotels on Priceline are very nice. People have been getting the Hyatt for anywhere from $60 to $80/night. The Mariott Pinnacle and Sheraton Wall Centre also come up on a regular basis.

It's definitely worth checking out. I live in the Vancouver area and for a weekend getaway, we got the Hyatt last yearfor $65 and the Mariott for $45 this past spring.

All the downtown hotels are only a short taxi ride to the pier.

In Sept. 2002, we stayed at the Hyatt for $60. We were not disappointed. We had a huge room, with everything brand new altho I believe it is an older hotel. There is a nice shopping arcade right next door where I bought some jewelry at great prices! Enjoy your cruise!
