Default FYI Priceline Hyatt Regency Miami

Just thought I would let you CruiseMates know that on Priceline I JUST got Hyatt Regency Downtown Miami for Jan.30/05 , 1 night, for US$46 plus taxes&fees= $59.55 total.
I did 3*Dwntwn for $41, they came back with their ?$12 counteroffer,I did not take it of course;added a free rebid zone and went to $43=rejected;added the other free rebid zone and went to $46. It was accepted.
Now I can fill in my Carnival Funpass online!! Woohoo!!
We will be at the Hyatt 2 nights Pre & now 1 night Post cruise! Sure hope it is as nice as it looks/people say it is!!
Good luck with Priceline. Go to www. betterbidding.com for info/help if you need any.

Brenda,

We stayed there last April before our cruise. The hotel is very nice. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. Hoping to get the Hyatt pre-cruise again this April. Have a great time on your cruise!

Can I ask a (maybe a stupid) question? I have never used Priceline but have seen many post with fantastic deals. I noticed you were from Canada. Do I need an credit card with an American address to use Priceline or is there another way around this?
Thanks

Sorry I just came back to this thread(I have been very busy). You put in CA as State and use a zip code. I used 90210. Type in your address as normal and your phone #. I had no problem using a Cdn.Bank of Montreal Mastercard. Go to betterbidding.com for other helpful info on Priceline etc.and if you need help, just ask BEFORE you bid. Good luck-hope you get a good deal. Enjoy your cruise.

Question isnt there a risk that if you add a rebid zone you could get stuck with a hotel in a location you dont want.

Not if you add a zone that doesn't have a hotel with a star level you are bidding on. If you are bidding on a 3 or 4 star hotel in Miami downtown you can add North Miami. It does not have 3 or 4 star hotels.

Here is a link to an article on the main site that mentions a website that gives accurate and up to date information plus bidding strategies for using Priceline. I have used the website for many years. I have found that it is less "friendly" than another site but the information is much better.

Take care,
Mike
