Call the hotel directly and ask about the renovation. Stayed there April 29-30 and found it to be fine . I'm sure a renovation wouldn't hurt but we found no reason for complaint. We were picked up promptly by their shuttle at the airport. We found our room to be perfectly comfortable. We had a nice lunch outside near the pool. Cocktail before dinner was nice (and free). Breakfast buffet is lavish. Shuttle to the pier (make reservation when you arrive) was eficient. All the above part of a reasonable rate (except the lunch ).

we love the Embassy Suites. great hotel. I would do as Papa Bill suggests- call the hotel direct, find out exactly what is going on.

If its not to your liking in time for your cruise. I can recommend the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport NORTH..

They have a 24 hour free shuttle from the airport and a free shuttle to PORT.

We arrived at 3AM and the shuttle was these within 15 minutes of calling or by the time we had our bags..

Nice clean great breakfast.

I would love it if they would brighten the rooms. While the Embassy Suites is a great hotel for a pre-cruise stay and has great amenities, the rooms are a bit on the gloomy side. IMO

Take care,

Embassy suites no longer offers transporation from the airport unless you have a specific package that includes this.
