Hyatt at pier 66 in FLL

HI all,

We have an upcoming HAL cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale and wanted to know if anyone has stayed at this Hyatt. It looks to be very close to the port. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Would love to hear about it too. We stay there in 17 days! Friends of ours staying there called and said they have an airport shuttle and port shuttle. Good to hear...it will save some $$. I forgot to ask about a continental breakfast...anyone know?

CA Cruiser,

I've had some reports that the property is under goinmg some major rennovations to the pool area and some rooms. I also heard a rumor that the revolving resteraunt/lounge atop the tower is now for banquets only. When I called the property about the only thing that would commit to was that all facilities were open and operating.

I would appreciate your feedback when you return.

I will be sure and let you know. Our friends are arriving there 5 days before us so I might have info before I leave.

I saw you cruise the Azure Seas in 1982..when? That was our first cruise, Spring Break, April 1982. That was when you could visit the ship every Friday for Happy Hour before it left port. I took my husband there to surprise him about 2 months before our cruise and he looked around, saw some varnish peeling floors and wasn't really that impressed, then he said "you paid $1000 for this?"!! HAHA We weren't even home 5 minutes and he was checking when we could go again! Hooked for life!!

CA Cruiser,

I was on the Azure Seas the summer of '82 and enjoyed it so much I joined the Navy in '83 and cruised the world courtesy of Uncle Sam for a while. I am hooked on sea days and open ocean sailing. Now that Navy life is over I'm back into cruising for pure pleasure (its nice not to have to stand watch).

I'm looking forward to you feedback on the Hyatt and we're leaning towards staying even with the rennovation. We like the hotels location to hte airport and port.
