Any suggestions on a nice hotel in Venice that you dont have to carry your luggage far?? Since I have had major back surgery,Im not going to be much use to my hubby. So,would like something that would be easy from the airport and to the port. Thanks,Dot
I'd recommend the Best Western Marina Pacific Hotel or you can go way upscale and book the Ritz Carlton. There's always someone available at the Ritz to help you (they better). I'm sure there will be someone available at the best western, too. I would probably call them direct.
Also there is a smaller nice hotel, Inn at Venice Beach, but usually there is one or two people at the front desk. I'd call them as well to see if they have a porter available.
You can find these hotels online under venice or marina del rey.
Goodluck and enjoy

You're very welcome, Dal, if the weather is anything like it was today you will really enjoy yourselves at the beach.
After your trip don't forget to post and tell us which place you chose and what you thought of it all
Zina,it just dawned on me,your talking about Venice California, and Im talking about Venice Italy Sorry,I wasnt clear. But thank you for your replys to me! Dot
mudley, thanks for that website! It seems to have some good info.I did book a hotel,it seems to have mixed reviews, but Im sure I can put up with it for the night. Thanks again,Dot
The Maritima. I believe this is the hotel recommended on another site. It is supposed to be ajacent to the pier and also easy to get from there to the main part of Venice. Anyway, you can Google it ahead of time to check it out. Also, Google " Venice, ITALY hotels near cruise pier". It might just work. I have read many sad tales of people dragging their luggage all over Venice because there are no cars there. BTW, the mix up between the different Venices gave me a good giggle, too.

We ended up booking the Santa Chiara, and loved it! It got mixed reviews, but we found it to be quite charming.I was a little taken back when we went to the lobby for check in and found that we had to go back outside and down the sidewalk to actually get to our room! But,it wasnt far,and once we figured it out,all was well. You go thru a court yard that you have to acess with a key,and then you use the same key to get into the hotle. The bathroom was HUGE! And,it was all very clean. They had a very nice breakfast set up for you..we enjoyed it and would stay there again.Dot
