THE RATES ARE HIGH BECAUSE IT IS SUMMER TIME AND THE LAST MONTH BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS.
I LIVED IN NASSAU BAY AND LEAGUE CITY UNTIL A FEW YEARS AGO. WE USED TO GO TO GALVESTON A LOT, BUT THE LOCALS (IE: HOUSTON AND SURROUNDING CITIES)TRY TO AVOID OVER-NIGHT STAYS IN LATE SUMMER BECAUSE THE RATES WILL BE HIGH.
Thanks, this seems to be the story of my life. This is the only week I can cruise this summer. As such, the rates for the cruise are about $250-$300 per person higher this week than two weeks later.
This addiction of mine is getting to be costly, but I just can't seem to kick it. 8)
YOU MIGHT TRY THE HARBOR HOUSE AT PIER 21. I KNOW THE RATES FOR SEPTEMBER ARE 135./NIGHT. IT IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE PIER WHERE YOU BOARD YOUR SHIP. ITS NICE, CLEAN, NO POOL BUT THEY WILL GIVE YOU SIGNING ABILITIES TO HOTEL GALVEZ IF A POOL IS A PRIORITY. I AM SURE THE RATES FOR AUGUST WILL PROBABLY BE ABOUT THE SAME.
CHECK THEM OUT ON LINE IF YOU THINK THAT MIGHT BE AN OPTION FOR YOU. GO TO HARBOR HOUSE GALVESTON TEXAS AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK.
YOUR ADDICTION IS SHARED BY MANY FELLOW CRUISERS. WE FEEL YOUR PAIN.
to see what's going on in Galveston on August 5. Some of these are the "usual" Galveston stuff, but there are a couple of things that are only going on in August! These are probably why the prices are "up"!
Not much help, but at least an explanation !
"A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour."
I booked at the Harbor House for August 21, a Sunday, for $98.00 through hotels.com. I believe it was about $115.00 through Galveston.com. It is a non-refundable price, but I have trip insurance so I am not worrying about it. Unless I am dead I plan to be there!
