Default Any suggestions in Tampa area

Hi everyone! Firts time poster long time lurker. I have been on several cruises before and loved everyone. We usually either fly in the morning of or have stayed with friends near the port in the past. It looks like we will be flying in on th day before our cruise this time and just seeing if anyone has a hotel suggestion.
We are going on the miracle out of Tampa on Sept. 24 and would like to stay somewhere near the dock as we probably won't be going out any saturday night. Maybe somewhere to watch football since it is that time of year. Thanks in advance to any replies maybe I will be able to return the favor sometime.

I'm surprised nobody has answered this. Next time, try posting this question on the cruise line you are going on. Probably have better results.

I went to college at Univ. of Tampa & I know its changed since then. My suggestion would be to try these websites (they give you the distance from the dock) & punch up the hotel lists.

www.orbitz.com, www.hotels.com.

Or, search the net for listings for hotels in the Tampa area. Also, view the cruise line forum you are going on. I can pretty much guaranteee someone has already posted several listings of Tampa hotel's.

I've stayed at chase suites, Wyndham westshore and doubltree Westshore and all were fine. Chase Suites and doubletree offer shuttles from the airport and to the pier. The Wyndham only has an airport shuttle. It was about a $10 cab ride to the pier. I got the doubletree on Priceline for a $60-$70 bid and the Wyndham on Hotwire for $75. Chase suites was about $160/night for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite (we were traveling with our 4 kids on that trip).
