Thoughts on Oceanside Inn in Port Canaveral / Cocoa Beach
I'm liking the idea of all of the rooms having an ocean view and balcony. Any thoughts on this hotel? I'm thinking of this one, the Days Inn or the Best Western Cocoa Beach. We'll be leaving from Cape Canaveral on October 21, 2007 on the Sensation.
We've stayed at the Days Inn on N. Atlantic Ave. in Cocoa Beach. It is not on the ocean. There is an ocean view if you lean over the balcony far enough. I knew this when booking but figured I would have plenty of ocean views in the days to come.
It was a very nice hotel with a a Perkins Pancake House(?) right next door. It was a short walk to the beach and we were able to watch the cruise ships leave that evening.
It's only a few minutes drive to the pier and a short drive to a Wal-Mart for those last minute things you forgot.
We got the Best Western Oceanside Inn on Priceline for 1 pre-cruise night this past January. It was older, but the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. As far as all rooms being oceanview, I think that's streching the truth a little, as there are a couple huge hotels kind of blocking the way.
We just got back last week from a cruise on the Sensation and stayed at the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach. We had a "partial ocean view" which was fine. The balcony looked directly at the condos beside the hotel, but the side view of the balcony was the beach and ocean. The beach is right behind the hotel pool and very handy. We got a super rate at the hotel website by prepaying. Parking wasn't a concern as I had a rental car from the airport and dropped it at Avis (2.5 miles up the road) the next morning and they provided a shuttle to the cruise terminal.
Beds were nice and there was a fridge and coffee in the room.
