Default Holiday Inn Downton has NO SHUTTTLE service...now what?

No shuttle service to airport or cruise port from Holiday Inn downtown. Can I get a cab from the hotel to cruise? How much ? Cant be too bad since its only a couple of blocks away. Also, after cruise, is it a pain to get back to the Miami airport with a Carnival shuttle?

Taxi to the port is cheap. Taxi to the airport post cruise is easier and cheaper than the cruise line shuttle. It's a set rate from the port to the Miami airport. With tip it's about $25 per taxi (not per person).

Hotel to Port should run you under $10.

I would definitely do the Carnival shuttle to the airport afterwards. They are very experienced in getting a lot of passengers to the airport efficiently and that cab ride could get really pricey.

I agree.........grab a cab........fast, inexpensive & no hassle......the shuttles take forever......gotta wait til the luggage is on & the people are seated.......done both & always do the taxi now.......

I also, strongly recommend the taxi both before and after the cruise. Carnival's shuttle will run you $35 per person. A taxi will be around $25 per taxi that will handle two or three people. A far better deal.

The cabs at the pier are plentiful and easy to find, especially if you use a luggage porter. Even if you don't they aren't hard to find. Just go out the door and take a right and they are they right there.

Take care,
Mike

All airports have shared van shuttles for a set rate. You just walk outside and ask where the shuttles are located. It is a set rate.

This is what I do all the time and that is.... I plan to fly back after 4p.m.
so I am free to buy the EVERGLADES TOUR after the cruise. The tour bus takes you to the everglades and then drops you off at the airport by 2p.m. or 3p.m. I LOVE THE EVERGLADES AND NEVER GET TIRED OF SEEING IT. There are other tours you can take and then be taken to the airport. Luci

Some cab drivers in Miami disliked the short run from the port to hotels in dowtown Miami. Our was for one.

Default CAB

We just used a cab to and from our hotel in B. Bay to the port for $11! Just a word of warning......they only take cash, no credit cards!
