Default out of Tampa, 4/08 hotels?

Hi. We are headed out of Tampa on 4/21/08. Anyone recommend someplace reasonably priced to stay the night prior? It doesn't have to be a 4 star...it's just for one night...but would like a clean safe place.

Thanks for any feedback you may have.

My husband and I are sailing out of Tampa in Jan. and are staying the night at the DoubleTree at the airport. It's around $100.00 which I think is pretty standard. It has shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port. It also will take you to near by restaurants for dinner and shopping!
Good luck and happy cruising!

Where is the Doubletree located? We are leaving in Feb and I have yet to find a hotel that offers shuttle service to both airport and port. Thanks!

Just be aware that the Double Tree in Tampa is not up to the standards of the Double Trees nation wide.

DoubleTree Hotel - Tampa Westshore Airport.

I have read where others have said that it isn't a high quality DoubleTree, but I don't really understnd that. DoubleTree is a very well know hotel and I have been in many of them and have never seen a bad one. I think that maybe they just had a bad experience. At any rate, we will only be there for just the night before we sail and with the shuttle service it really worked for us.

Happy Sailing!

Default Tampa Hotel

This Double Tree Tampa Westshore sounds like a bargain at $100. The Marriott Properties I have looked at do not have Airport to Hotel Shuttle. Does this Double Tree?

We returned about 3 weeks ago from our cruise. This DoubleTree (the one by the airport) was wonderful! They have done a great renovation and everything looks great. We took their shuttle from the airport to the hotel. They also took us to the nearby shopping centers and back to the hotel when we were ready, this is all at no charge. IN ADDITION - they will transport you from the hotel to the cruise ship AND - pick you up when you return and take you to the airport. This was a great service. They do charge $15.00 to take you and pick you up and return you to the airport. The cost of a bus ride is $9.00 per person, just from the cruise port, that doesn't include the cost of getting there from your hotel so I believe it was well worth it to have that personal service. The driver handled our luggage and dropped us at the correct terminal.

Default Thank you

Thanks Kenandlinda. Free shuttle from the Airport, $15.00/person to Port at a Double Tree is awfully good.
