Default FLL hotels off of priceline

Hi I am sailing the Carnival Splendor on Nov 21 for our honeymoon. We did the priceline thing where you name your own price. For our pre cruise we bid 115 for Nov 20-21 and we got the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. We were very excited about this. For the post cruise stay from Nov 29-30 we bid 100 and recieved the Sheraton Yankee Clipper. This is the one we are nervous about due to alot of negative reviews on various websites. What are your takes on these hotels. Thanks

I think you'll be very happy with the Westin Diplomat!

I've stayed at the Clipper several times and have not had any issues. There are 2 towers, one beach side, and one across the street. There is a sky bridge connecting the 2 buildings, so you don't have to fight traffic to get from one to the other. I've always been across the street. There was some noise from the restaurant across from the hotel during the day once, but all was quiet at night. It is an older building, but reasonably well maintained. I wish I remembered the room number, one time I was in a corner room and could see the Port from one window and the beach from the other. I watched the Caribbean Princess depart the port, and then next thing she was directly out the front window headed out to sea! If you go swimming in the pool, keep in mind that there are underwater windows that give the people in the bar a view!

I stayed in Sheron Yankee Clipper it was pretty close to the strip and and walking distance to all the bars so if you party you will be fine. A little expense on the food /shopping, but you are on you honeymoon so what the hell. but you will spend some money down there. the hotel is nice. Sheritons always are take care

The Westin is a nice place and great rooms/beds. Good choice.
I stayed at the Yankee Clipper about 10-years ago, it was in poor condition, check to see the last renovation date. one good thing, It is on the beach.
Have a great Honeymoon

A honeymoon cruise....how wonderful! Congratulations.

When do they tell you which hotel you got for your bid? I was hesitant to use priceline bid process because I don't like the idea of being "assigned" a hotel. Can you change it or cancel it free of charge if you don't like the hotel they chose for your bid?

I never use priceline, hotels.com or anything of the like. Once you buy from them you're done if you have a problem. Try making changes or getting a refund, won't happen.

I take reviews off of sites with a grain of salt. Some people just like to complain and you usually can figure them out judging by how long the "review" is.

Embassy suites in Ft. Lauderdale is a nice hotel as well.
