St Regis in Fort Lauderdale

I have a stay currently booked in November at the St Regis in Fort Lauderdale. I just got an e mail that stated this property will no longer be part of the Starwood brand. I called the hotel and they could not confirm any details on the name of the hotel or if they would still be open. Just wondering if anyone had any more information on this property. Thanks!

I made a phone call, and the Hotel is leaving the group as of August 10th.
Will this effect a rewards program you are in enrolled in?

This property looks so gorgeous, and is right across from the beach. Enjoy your stay.

Yes I got an e mail stating that, I called the property as well. Not sure who is taking this property over or if they will be open.

It called back twice, the first rep knew nothing, and the 2nd rep filled me in....

They were getting phone calls before their own people were notified, and obviously all the people don't know anything still, but here is what I got..you may know all the same info..

Any reservation after 8/10/08 will be honored as long as it is just a regular stay. No Starwood points will be honored or given after this date. They do not believe the hotel will be closed at all, nor do they know what the name will be, once the change over occurs.
