Hyatt on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale

We are looking at this property pre- and post sail and have a question or 2.

Does the trolley that goes down to the public beach area stop near here?

Ditto the water taxi.

Also, how far is it from the Walgreens near the Rennaisance Hotel?

Thanks in advance,

While I have not stayed here in years, it is my favorite Lauderdale hotel.

Right up the street there is the Southport Shopping Center:

Shopping Center, located close to the Fort Lauderdale Beach and Port Everglades, boasts over 48 specialty shops and restaurants, including: Publix, a local grocery store chain; Carriage Clothiers, Ltd., an upscale men's clothing store; and Nature's Remedy, a health food store and juice bar. It's a great "one stop shopping" center where you can purchase a variety of items including groceries, clothing, accessories, gifts and of course, Florida souvenirs.

I checked the water taxi site...and it does not pickup at Pier 66

The Walgreens and the Ren Hotel, is not a terrible walk from the hotel.
Honestly I don't remember seeing trolleys on the A1A...

Hyatt Pier 66

About the Hyatt, It has a trolley pick-up on 17th street at the entry of hotel. the hotel is older and the rooms show it.
The water taxi has a pick up about 1-block away, over by Grill 66, they have a web-site.
Prime meats served at Grill 66. High end restaruant.
I have stay at Hyatt pier 66 many times, not a bad place to stay, I do perfer the New Hilton property called Grande Yacth Club, supper cool hotel.
The hotels are next to each other, one on each side of the bridge.
Rooms are more modern includings the beds, which are pillow tops.
The intercostal view in the tower is prestine.
The hotel is also closer to Wallgreens, you can walk there in 10-minutes.
They also have a water taxi pick-up at the hotel less then 1-block away.
The China Grill is exclusive and has sushi.

Happy sailing
Danny

I think the Hyatt he is talking about is the Hyatt Place on 17th St.
It was the Amerisuites until it was remodeled about a year or so ago.
We stayed there pre- cruise. The Sun Trolley stops on the opposite corner, outside the Embassy Suites. It makes a loop to downtown/beach area.
There is a Publix supermarket in a shopping area behind the Embassy Suites, there is also a liquor store there.
I don't recall a Walgreens.
Next door to the Hyatt Place is a Mexican Restaurant and next door to that an Outback Steakhouse,so it was a good location.
