Default Hotel in Vancouver

Taking a cruise out of Vancouver and not sure if there are any cheap/good hotels in the down town area of vancouver. I know that cheap and good don't go hand in hand, but maybe a clean hotel.

Thanks Kiteflyer

Depending on the time of year you can get a great one on Priceline in your price range. We always bid on a 4* and get the Hyatt or Sheraton Wall. Priceline lists the hotels for each category.

If you go to Vancouver.com . they list many hotels

http://www.vancouver.com/

Vancouver Tourism Bureau

http://www.tourismvancouver.com/visitors/

Some nice hotels are
Days's Inn
Sandman Inn & Suites
Travelodge

They all have fproperties in the downtown area.

How long are staying in Vancouver?

You could find cheaper hotels in Richmond , Burnaby or New Westminster.

Hi. I'm thinking that it will be for a couple of days. So getting something in the downtown area works out for us. The last time we were in Vancouver, we stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was clean, the staff was helpful and it was free. So, finding something close to Canada Place is what we are talking about. Thanks for the help. Kiteflyer[/b][/quote]

The closer to Canada Place the hotels get more expensive.
The Day's Inn and others are in the downtown but sort of
away from the main core but still within walking distance of
most attractions.

Sorry just saw the post now. I live in Vancouver. The Pan Pacifc hotel is part of the departure port area for the ships to Alaska. Then Waterfront Fairmont is accross the street. The hotels in Vancouve are expensive. The least expensive but still within walking distance to the pirt is The Days Inn Vancouver. There are no more airport bus transport from the airport to the ciry center. You take the Skytrain from the airport to the Waterfront station and walk to the hotel or port. Have a good trip.

Very happy they have brought the train all the way out to the airport now. When we were there last year we rode the mass transit alot and loved it. Had to take a cab to/from the airport back then.

The water taxi/bus combo from Canada Place to get out to Grousse worked out well.

Getting to the ferry for Victoria was a bit of a trek but soooo worth it.
Would do the helitaxi next time.

Well you hardly find cheap hotels in Vancouver. As all the hotels are very good and it is one of the canada's biggest sea port. But as far as i know a three star hotel called Best Western Downtown Vancouver will be good for you. They offers well-cleaned rooms with service of coffee or tea ,voice mail, data ports, hairdryer, ironing boards and many more.
