Default Late arrival FLL - hotel advice

We are arriving FLL midnight January 30. Our cruise doesn't board until 1600 hrs the 31st, so we have lots of time to get to the ship.

I would really like to stay CLOSE to the airport, so we aren't fumbling around in the dark!

Having looked through the threads, no place seems to stand out. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Default hotels

Bruce, I can call you Bruce? Thank you. Bruce, I would highly suggest Priceline. I own a travel agency, and, even with my discounts, Priceline lets you name your price. I just booked the Crowne Plaza Ft. Lauderdale for myself this Feb. 13th 09. I got it for $120. Last month Crowne Plaza Los Angeles cruise port for $65.

Check the Sheraton, and The Wyndham...they are both as close to the airport as you can get....

Trip, with her book & tea!

Trip is right on about the Sheraton and the Windham, but there are also a lot of hotels within a 5 minute cab ride from the airport,we like to stay on or around 17th St. Holiday Inn Express, Embassy Suites, AmeriSuites, Hyatt Marina, all of these hotels are maybe 5-10 minutes from the airport and about the same from the pier not to mention a grocery store, strip mall within a reasonable walking distance

I'm confused. You state your cruise doesn't board until 1600. That seems awfully late for boarding. I found a Carnival cruise that leaves at 1600. Is this your cruise? If so, you need to board much earlier.
