Default Looking for hotel prior to Cape Liberty Cruise

I am looking for a nice hotel near Cape Liberty (Bayonne).
We are cruising in February 2010. We would like a hotel where we can leave our vehicle during the cruise plus a shuttle ride to/from the pier.
Any suggestions ?

Don't know if there is a shuttle but your best bets are going to be by Newark AP in Elizabeth. Other people recommend the Hyatt in Jersey City but you can't leave your car & there is no shuttle.

Try these for starters...all under newark/elizabeth, off exit 13A of the NJ Turnpike:

Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott
Country inn & suites.

the Country Inn has a package but you need to call the hotel direct and ask about it, as i don't think the price on line includes everything (ir, parking and room but not shuttle, or room and shuttle, parking extra)

I have left my car at the Courtyard and RI on several occasions.

These hotels are opposite an outlet mall and adjacent to a Ruby Tuesday restaurant.

Click the link in my signature for ny blog about cape liberty.

Most of the hotels will NOT have shuttles but you can get a cab/car service to the pier for about $45 plus tip. (usually when the hotel calls for a cab, they get you a car service.)

I have used www.blackexecutivecars.com in the past and have been very happy so that may be an option as well.

Hope that helps! We just got back last sunday from a 21 night B2B on explorer...wish we were still there!

We're booked on the Explorer O.T.S. Jan.16 for 12 nights. We're driving from Ontario. After exhaustive research, we've decided to pay $80 for a hotel room pre-cruise,drive to the pier and pay the outrageous $19 per day parking at the terminal. Every hotel in the area has an airport shuttle but none have a port shuttle. You have to take a cab or limo and the quotes we got were $60 to 70 each way. RCI has packages but they are designed for people flying in. They would get us TO the pier but in order to get BACK to the hotel to pick up the car we'd have to spend another night at the hotel! Or get a cab. Plus, most hotels charge 10 to 20 bucks a night to park. Plus we have priority disembarkation and we can grab the car right away and hit the road. Last year in Baltimore we waited over an hour for the hotel shuttle.
I'm surprised, now that RCI and Celebrity are using Bayonne, that more hotels
aren't offering park/shuttle packages.
