that is still clean and safe? We have not booked our cruise yet but I want to get as much info together before we do this. The cruise we want is NCL Jewel leaving NYC 10/10/10. We only need a room for one night as we would be coming in via train (Penn Station) the night before. We just don't want to spend a lot for a bed and place to keep our luggage until we get to the ship. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
A few years ago we looked and couldn't find one but we did get a good deal at the Hampton Inn near the Gershwin Theater for under $200 which included a free breakfast. You might want to try Priceline and see what you can get.

Inside Edition has done exposes on NYC Hotels, that would make your skin crawl. Filthy/broken bathrooms and beds, with bedbugs, etc...A couple of weeks ago, they opened the door to a hotel, and there was a man sleeping in the bed..not real sure if that was NYC though....sadly, skimping in this city, could be uncomfortable;(
I don't want to be an alarmist, but, check, check, check the reviews on the sites mentioned.
Trip, with her book & tea!

There is an online site on which you can check every hotel ,motel ,etc to see if they were cited for bedbug infestation .I am going on an organized tour vacation in May and last year this tour was spending 2 nights at a facility cited for bedbug infestation .Therefore,I checked very thoroughly before booking my tour and I check the site weekly .
