Galveston hotels and transportation to port
 

Can anyone recommend a good clean hotel in Houston/Galveston the night before we sail on Voyager of the Seas RCI Dec. 19th? We want to be as close to the port as possible; should we stay the night in Houston at the airport or go on to Galveston; what is the cheapest transportation for two people to get from the airport to the port?

You might want to check with your cruise line and see if they have transportation avail from the airport to the port. IAH to Galveston is about 60 miles or so. You would prob need a second mortgage to cover the taxi cost. :D

Thanks for the reply....I did just that and booked the cruise line transportation; our kids gave us a voucher for the Hilton by the airport so we will stay there and then catch their shuttle back to the airport and take the cruise line transportation; it was by far the most reasonable! :)

Glad you worked it out. Several do what you are doing. Airpost transportation has always been a problem.

I have always considered Galveston a 'drive' friendly port and not a 'fly' friendly port! The upside is that the ship will be be full of friendly and courteous Texans.
