Tampa Florida hotels.

We are flying into Tampa pre cruise and need a nice hotel. close to the airport .. With shuttle from airport and maybe a shuttle to port also. We like to have restaurants close enough to walk to also. Looking at the Wyndum... or the LaQuinta near the airport. Any suggestions will be great. Oh yes we like a pool also.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Ybor City. It was nothing special but very nice and clean. Lots of fellow cruisers. Great selection for breakfast. When we were there in Feb, there was a street festival going on so it was really great, but there are a few bars/restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Our cab from the airport cost about $25 (with tip), but the shuttle from the hotel to the port is free and they start leaving aroubd 10am, and then every half hour after that.

A great option if looking for a really nice hotel pre or post cruise would be priceline or hotwire. You can stay at some really nice hotels for a fraction of the rack rate price. I always use them and many other cruisers do to. Priceline offers the best discounts due to the fact that you name your own price. I have used both for years and use my extra savings for excursions or items I may purchase on ship.
