We are going on a cruise that leaves out of Port Everglades in August. We booked flights that left a day before the cruise and a day after the cruise. We need a hotel that you would reccomand that is under $120. Thanks! :-D
You could get a great deal on a great hotel for around that, on Priceline if you felt confidant enough to go that route. Try Ramada or Laquinta, or some of the names on this list.
We have stayed there twice and will stay there again for our next cruise.

The Holiday Inn Express on 17th Street has shuttle service 4 nominal fee, continental breakfest and internet kiosk. Hotel is walking distance to everything and about $10 to Port.
Can you try for Rodeway on Priceline for a cheaper rate than they list on their own website? It's showing $94 for the type of room we need on the date that we need. I was originally going to try for something fancier on Priceline, but because of people's repeated recommendations, free shuttle, etc, I thought we might as well just go with Rodeway.
On the other hand, how far is it from Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.? I was planning to take the kids there for supper, and we'd have to take a cab. Anybody know approximate cab cost from anywhere to Bubba's?
Well, never mind. I just did a blind leap and went on Priceline and got Hyatt Regency Pier 66 for $70/nite plus fees. Now someone tell me when and how I need to contact them to make sure I get a room that can sleep 4?
Just call the hotel directly, and you can specify the beds you need..Call asap....just to let you know what a good price you got....back in the 90's when I first stayed there, I think the cost was $74.00,and they gave us a boxed lunch to boot...you did well, and I commend you for taking the leap.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I did call the hotel and was told that our room has two queen beds, which was exactly what I was hoping. Also told they don't have a complimentary shuttle from airport to hotel, but that cab was approximately $12 from the airport to the hotel and approximately $10 to the cruise port. That's not too bad.
How much do people tip cab drivers? I have to work this into my budget. Thanks again! I'm so excited!
as to tipping a cab, it depends on how good the service is. Do they help with the bags? do they take the quickest route? friendly and polite? ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU GET IN THE CAB!!! how much is it to the ship? Check with the hotel concierge. They will help you. You made a good choice with the Hyatt. Rodeway Inn is a lower class hotel. I always like the Marriott, but you will like your stay at the Hyatt.
As an aside, the cruise lines used to have busses that took passengers from the hotels to the ships. It was something that was included in your fare depending on what you booked. I just got on a bus with my daughter and they didn't say anything or ask me. Don't know if you can get away with that now, but it worked about 8 years ago!
