Hotel to stay at near Port Everglades.

What hotel is good to stay at before a cruise leaving out of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale? We are having a wedding on the Allure of the Seas and plan to stay at least one night before. We want it to be nice but don't want to spend a fortune. Also we want somewhere to get our hair and makeup done before the ceremony. Either at the salon at a hotel or somewhere local. We don't want to get it done on the ship just in case there is a problem getting everyone onboard in time. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

On A1A, close to the port, you have an abundance of hotels..These several, are all close by... Reanaissance, Embassy Suites, Hyatt Place, Pier 66 ,all very nice hotels. I think once you decide whete to stay, you should call the concierge at the hotel, to seek advice on a salon they would recommend. None of the above hotels, have an in house salon. I don't think many have this option anymore, unless perhaps a W, or Trump property. In a beach area though, I would bet not.

I totally agree with Trips hotel recommendations on this one. As for getting your hair and make-up done on shore before you board the ship, wedding appts need to be booked a good time in advance at any reputable salon, most salons would need to book at LEAST 1 hour per client for wedding hair & make-up. You might be better off getting it done on the ship, again you would need to book your appts in advance. You need to coordinate arrival/check-in times with all your bridal attendants and go from there.
