FLL Hotel Pre Cruise

Any recommendations for a hotel in FLL prior to a cruise? I would like something with a balcony, view of the ships and a nice onsite restaurant.

I've heard the Hyatt Pier 66 is nice with a restaurant on top. Anyone stayed there? What did you think? Was the restaurant nice?

Trying to make it a special relaxing trip for out 25th anniversary.

I love Pier 66,and my last visit was last March. From our balcony we could see the ships arriving, which was nice...Aside from the rotating restaurant, there is Grille 66 on the premises. I have not dined at either, due to my need to go back to some favorite restaurants....

Also, check out some fine dining options on Las Olas Blvd, right down A1A...and The Bimini Boatyard, a fabulous option is very close to Pier 66..They used to have killer grilled garlic shrimp there..yum.

Talked to hubby and we are trying to decide between a Tower Balcony at Pier 66 or an Oceanview at Lago Mar. Have you stayed at Lago Mar? How does it compare to Pier 66? Is the water taxi close to either?
