Puerto Rico Hotels by terminal
We have cruised several times - but always out of Florida. I am booking our next out of Puerto Rico and need a little advice on possibly staying the night before in PR. We are coming from Kansas and it will be a long travel day, with the first flight in PR at 2:00. Normally I would risk it and travel same day as departure but the time constraints and the distance are just too risky this time. Therefore, I would like to fly in the day before and stay one night near the cruise terminal. Anyone have suggestions on this? Where? I want clean and safe but also convenient - not too worried about the cost as long as it meets those three things. Also - is this port as congested as the others? Would appreciate any help on this...
Also - am posting this in the "hotel" section just in case since I really want as much info as possible on this. January 11th, 2014 02:06 PM

I'm surprised your agent couldn't/wouldn't help you with this.

With that said, anywhere from around the airport to the pier is fine - nothing is too far away from the pier that it costs all that much for taxis (roughly $12 maximum).

There are some nice hotels either by the airport, by the pier, or on the beach, depends on what you're looking for, how many people are going, and how much you're willing to pay.

What I suggest is to go to and use that as a research guide to get you started. Then once you have a hotel in mind, go to the hotel's corporate website to see what their rates are and then contact the hotel directly and see what they're charging. Often you'll get different rates depending on where you're looking, so it's good to check more than one way to book it. Make sure to ask about AAA or AARP discounts, if you have those available to you.

There is a nice hotel/casino right across the street from the pier. Years ago, it used to be a Wyndham, but I think it is now a Sheriton....They have a roof top pool and you can see your ship when you wake up in the AM....
