Default Ft. Lauderdale Beachfront hotel

Though I am sure this has been gone over ad nauseum, I am looking for recommendations for a hotel beachfront in Ft. Lauderdale for a post-cruise 2-3 night stay. I would say budget is $150 a night. Would love a free breakfast, but if hotel is near eateries, that would suffice. Don't want to pay for an overpriced hotel buffet. I don't necessarily require free shuttle service to airport or from cruise terminal -- though, that would be a MAJOR plus. I have been searching for days on the internet using all the sites and it's mind-boggling. I don't want to stay in some worn out, dirty hotel after spending a week on a beautiful ship. By the same token, I can't afford 5 star prices, either. We will not have a rental car, hence the request for beachfront. I have NO experience in Ft Lauderdale as we never cruised out of this port before. If the water taxi is reliable and safe and fun to get to a beach, a hotel within safe walking distance to that would be considered too.

This would be a nice option! Right on the beach.

The Bahia Mar, right in the same area, has a walkway over A1A, that gets you across the street to the beach.

Some great shopping and dining options in this area. Call the hotels directly, not via the 1-800 number, & ask for any special deals.

Trip, with her book & tea!

I vote for the Bahia Mar too, nice beach, nice hotel, and if you can, book yourself on the Jungle Queen river cruise through the intercoastal waterway of Ft. Lauderdale, it is a don't miss!
