We are going on our first Alaskan cruise in September of this year. We leave from Seattle and return to Vancouver. Any suggestions on hotels that are reasonable and close to things to do? Thanks.
Reasonable? Well, not really, probably $200 to $300 range, but you cannot beat the Pan Pacific for location and ambiance. We stayed there pre and post cruise for our Alaska cruise and it was truly a once in a lifetime. We had a harbor view room and the view was jaw dropping. We watched our ship sail into harbor with the bay and mountains in the backdrop. You literally walk across the street when you get off the ship. The hotel sits above the cruise terminal. Right outside the door are tour buses to all the sights or you can walk to many of them. No car needed. Walk for miles along the sea wall, see Stanley Park. Lots of great restaurants waterfront. It is worth a splurge, but if it does not fit the budget, I would definitely try to stay in that area.
