Default Cruise Line Statements - Itinerary Changes for Florence!!!!!

From Royal Caribbean:

Tropical Weather Update
September 8, 2006 -- 11:00 a.m.

Royal Caribbean International continues to closely monitor the path and progress of Tropical Storm Florence to ensure our guests enjoy safe and comfortable cruises, and to make certain our ships steer clear of the storm.

The safety of our guests and crew is always the foremost concern of Royal Caribbean International.

Given Tropical Storm Florence's location and projected path, Royal Caribbean may need to alter the itineraries of three ships.

Ships sailing from Cape Liberty
Explorer of the Seas, departing Friday, September 8, may be unable to make its first port of call in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Monday. If the storm remains on its currently predicted path, the ship may need to sail closer to the U.S. coast, which would require more sailing time to reach the Caribbean and result in its missing its first port of call. If this is the case, the ship will spend that day at sea.

Ships sailing from the Port of Philadelphia
Empress of the Seas, departing Saturday, September 9, will make every effort to carry out its scheduled sailing to Bermuda, even if its stay there is slightly abbreviated. Based on current forecasts, that may not be possible. Should the storm's predicted path pose a threat to the safety of our guests, or if the storm is expected to cause damage in Bermuda that would not allow us to dock there, the ship will be forced to sail an alternative itinerary. If an alternative itinerary is necessary, the ship will visit Nassau, Bahamas, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, and Freeport, Bahamas, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. We will attempt to provide a final itinerary as quickly as possible, however, that may not be possible until the ship is actually under way. As weather conditions involving the storm are constantly changing, guests booked on this sailing should continue monitoring these updates for the latest information. Guests also may contact Royal Caribbean at 1-800-529-6918 to receive these updates. Guests booked on this sailing may cancel their cruise and receive a letter of credit for the amount paid to Royal Caribbean. Guests who sail on this cruise will receive a $100 onboard credit per stateroom.

Ships sailing from the Port of Baltimore
Grandeur of the Seas, departing Sunday, September 9, will make every effort to carry out its scheduled sailing to Bermuda, even if its stay there is slightly abbreviated. Based on current forecasts, that may not be possible. Should the storm's predicted path pose a threat to the safety of our guests, or if the storm is expected to cause damage in Bermuda that would not allow us to dock there, the ship will be forced to sail an alternative itinerary. If an alternative itinerary is necessary, the ship will visit Nassau, Bahamas, from 2 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Guests booked on this sailing may cancel their cruise and receive a letter of credit for the amount paid to Celebrity. Guests who sail on this cruise will receive a $100 onboard credit per stateroom.

At this time, no other Royal Caribbean itineraries are being altered due to tropical weather. Royal Caribbean will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and update this information daily at 1p.m. and 7 p.m.
