What's the earliest you can see a tropical depression?
In other words... I'm cruising aug 31 mexican riviera... I want to "hurricane watch" but I'm not sure when I can really start looking for anything.
I'm not that smart about hurricanes.. and I'm new to cruising, this will only be my 2nd cruise the first was only 4 days.....
Can you help me?

Ferrangi - what I do is just check out the website at the National Hurricane Center........www.nhc.noaa.gov. On the main page, they have a graphic that says Atlantic or Eastern Pacific. Click on Eastern Pacific and it will shad in areas that might preclude some tropical development. I really wouldn't tart worrying about tropical development for your cruise til one week prior to leaving. This year, it seems most of the storms are developing down around the Acapulco area and moving generally westward - the only affect on a traditional Mex Riveria cruise might be increased sea swell.
