Default Typical seas in the Med in the summer

Am considering a saling trip in the Med summer of 2008 (Star Clipper maybe). Am relatively familiar with the Atlantic storm season and I have pretty good idea of risks of sailing at various times. How about the Med? Are there good and bad months as far as a storm season?

[apologies for cross-posting - I have dropping this in a couple of forums (fori?) as I know different folk may read in different groups]
