Can't wait for some reviews, as we are sailing Apr 24. It looks like a wonderful ship.

Hi all,
I don't know if any of you are on the roll call on cruise critic. There are lots of people on there.
Zydecocruiser. Thanks for your menus from the Spendor. Wow quite a bit of work.
See you on board or on the boards
Terry

I sure hate to hear that. Our group is having a great time getting ready for this cruise. Everyone loves your website and webcams. The pictures you posted are fantastic and I think we would all love to have you as part of our group. Can you believe we sail in two weeks?

BTW, the webcam this morning looked like the dream was not docked. Wasn't the ship scheduled for Monaco today? I thought I had read that since they were going to Monaco now instead of Cannes, that they would not have to tender in.

Did you read John's blog about the muster drills? We won't have to take the life jackets with us to the drills this time. I like that, since we always had to rush back to the cabin to put them away before the sail a way.

Are you excited to be doing the BtoB on the Dream? What plans do you have for the various ports?

Thank you, I do try and it is always good to hear feedback.

Carnival Dream definitely docked in Monaco, guaranteed... - I'll see if I can post a picture in a minute or so...

I did read John's blog and it is about time. There is really no requirement to go to the lifeboats. On my last Princess cruise, they prepared us more to jump over the side, which I think is a more realistic preparation in case of a "titanic" evacuation.

Speaking of the Titanic, I was just thinking about the big screen on the lido deck. When I read some posts that talked about watching movies out on the deck I night, I thought to myself "self, I sure hope they don't show the Titanic or Poseidon movies on the ship."

I did see a post on the site that is on your S**t list from someone who is in board. They said they had not tendered at Monaco. It seems strange that their cruise is almost over. Seems like they just left. Hope ours doesn't go by that fast.

Thank you, and please forgive me for any misunderstanding - it is not the people I object to - people are people - it is the mismanagement that I have an issue with. But we are getting way outside the box, now.

Thanks for the pic. Will you be posting it on your website? It seemed dark. What time of day was this one made?

I understand what you are saying about CC. There is no site that is perfect for everyone. I love this site for general cruise chat etc., but the roll call or meet on board for these bigger cruises seem much better for us over there. We are over 100 in our group now and have planned a lot of activities for the cruise. We did the same thing with a group there on our 2007 Med cruise and it worked out wonderfully for us. We actually still have people signing up to be part of the group almost every day and we have only 2 weeks left. I know the group would welcome you with open arms. We're doing a sail away, a meet and mingle, a cabin crawl, a poker run, gift exchange and tee shirt contest. Plust we are getting a huge group together at Cafe Buza in Croatia and have chartered a bus to Taormina. We've also set up several small groups for private tours, and some of us plan to take a vaperetto or water taxi out to Buranno the first afternoon and then a group is going on a pub crawl through Venice that night.

Thanks again for the pics and the website.

The pic is on my sight, just not easy to get to. It is here:

http://www.zydecocruiser.com/Carniva...w_live1_mc.jpg

It would have been about 5:30pm local time.

Maybe over the weekend I will add another Misc webcam page.

Thanks again, but we really don't do many group activities and sometimes prefer to just wing it.

I keep meaning to see if my GPS knows Cafe Buza, but we will have already done a long Carnival tour there.

We took a Carnival tour to the Konavle home and still had time to go to the old town (where Cafe Buza is) for an hour or so. I understand that it is hard to find, but I have directions I can send you if you are interested.

Did you see the breaking news about the mudslides in Messina today? It looks pretty bad.

That is what we are doing. GPS doesn't know Buza, but does know the street. Sure, you can send the directions, if something different than on their website.

I have put some stuff together on it:

didn't know about the mudslides - looks bad:

It seems Dream has been having Internet issues since last night. I hope they get them fixed before our cruise!

I know, a lot of people are complaining about the internet on the ship. Of course some people seem to be complaining about some very insignificant things that hardly seem to be worth mentioning.

Here is a youtube clip "how to get to cafe buza"

http://video.aol.com/video-detail/ho...uza/2758909855
It is really nice with the music etc., and you can jot down the directions as you watch.

I have nicknamed them the Whinos...

They really shouldn't expect everything to be perfect on an inaugural sailing - that is part of the risk and they need to get over it.

On my B2B2B Splendor sailings, parts of the ship were still being assembled even on the 3rd cruise. One day there would be some construction behind a curtain on Lido and the next day voila - a new drink station. That's just how it is.

There will no doubt be complaints that all they got was a stinking coffee table book as a memento of the inaugural cruise, but that's all Carnival has done for the past few ships.

The Internet thing might bother me some, but would definitely save me some money, and I have some backup plans...

Zydecocruiser,

Love your website. I will also be on the 10/15 sailing. As previous poster said you are more than welcome to join any of our activities. They will be rather informal, at least for me. I plan on the sailaway party; Sunset Bar-Lido Deck 10-Aft - Oct 15 6:30 PM - Port Day Civitavecchia, Italy .
It will be nice to meet in person folks that I have been chatting with and with whom I have arranged shared tours.

Have done the cabin crawls and gift exchanges before and not willing to give up that time on board. I am more interested in exploring every nook and cranny of the Dream. Maybe, if it is warm enough, get my friend to go on the water slide. That would be a good pic to take home to our DHs. One 70 yr old and a 67 yr old going on the slides!!!

Hope to get to meet you on the Dream and I will continue to check your website for info and photos.

Thank you.

If nothing else, we have late seating for dinner and maitre d' ken will know where we are - just ask for zydecocruiser.

I'm not convinced the ship has set sail from Civitiavechhia yet. Maybe they are still waiting on parts or people.

I do plan on trying the slides - just need to figure out how to convince them to let me do it with a camera!

As Judy said, we'd be more than happy to have you at any of our meet and greets. There is supposed to be one on the first sea day also. Something is supposed to be in the Patters.
Love looking at your website. We have late seating too so we'll have to ask Ken. I know I've been directed to you website by other on CC and I've gained lots of info so it would be great to meet you.

I told you these were great people (in our group).

Do you have any resources to find out what is going on with the webcam or when it might be back up? We sure do miss it.

I was also wondering if you have researched to see is other ships are making the stop at Messina since the mudslide last week?

I think they must be waiting for parts and/or experts to catch up to the ship.

Venice seems like a reasonable place. They will be there overnight and it isn't far from the shipyard, should they have to send a crew over to do something.

MSC Splendida is scheduled to be in Messina on Thursday and has a webcam.

Check cruisefellows dot com to see where some our our meetings are. I also meant to check the Capers, not Princess Patters) for our M&G which is in the Dico at 2 Pm on the first sea day.

And of course, it seems their webcam is not updating, either, since the ship is now at sea, but does seem to be reporting position.

Saturday may be somber in Messina - it looks like that is when the victims from the mudslides will be buried.
