TC.....we've already talked about this. I know tomorrow will be hard on you, and all of the friends and family left behind by this senseless tragedy. All of our thoughts will be with you, and many prayers for their daughter.

Seriously?? Drive-up daquiris?? Do the cops just wait at the end of the driveway to stop you for DUI's?? You cajuns are CRAZY!

Scurvy, I'm sorry to hear your money jumped out of your pocket and threw itself at the casino, but more than that.....I'm sorry your vacation is over. Don't worry, Flat Mike will be back soon and give you lots of new vacation stories.

April, good luck at the penny slots! Win lots of money, so we can go shopping in Miami!

Misguidedangel, I sure feel for you with the Thanksgiving holiday stuff. I can remember many of them where I wished I had stayed home. But now my mom and dad are gone, my brothers are all scattered, and my kids don't come home for turkey day, so I usually spend the day wishing I could turn back time and have my annoying family back.

Now Christmas is another story! My boys both still come home and spend the night here, so they can get up and see what Santa brought them (they're 29 and 27 ). I get up early and fill stockings and then make them get up too early, and they LOVE it. We spend great quality time together with lots of silly traditions, and I cry when they have to leave. I can't wait!

Ray, did you cut up some trees today??

Darlene, you did NOT mention that "A" word, did you??? And what's a "slip"?

Liz.....I agree with April. We need to see a bigger version of that picture in your signature. That way we can decide for ourselves who is "cuter" and who is "prettier".

Scurvy...first welcome home, glad you had a good time and made it back safely. 2nd, OF COURSE you can have it all, as long as your not looking for extras. For instance, I have a fantasic husband, a great job (as far as jobs go), a great house, lots of wonderful friends and my health. Isn't that all of it?

April and Linda, I was going to post the picture last night, but my fantasic husband had my laptop doing credit hours while we watched Survivor. By the time he got done I was to tired to get on and do it.

MGA, GET A GRIP!! I so cherish the time that we are together for the holidays. My parents are gone and my brothers are who knows where, we regrettably never even talk. But Philandliz's family come over almost every holiday and we have a great time. As aggravating as they are for the other 363 days of the year, I wouldn't trade those moments for anything on earth. You only get one time around in life, spend it wisely

Since holidays have become a topic, I usually host Thanksgiving at my house and I have 5 children. 4 show up with their families and my mother comes (dad passed away a few years back). Then the kids talk to their friends that have no place to go on Thanksgiving and we open our door to our "extended" family. I never know how many people there might be and even tho I'm exhausted at the end of the day, it's priceless!

Didn't cut trees I-1. Didn't know Rangers had an early day game so I watched the game both yesterday and today. Woo-Hoo the Rangers won them both!! I did burn some stumps though. The weather is fantastic.

Sorry about your friends TC. Sounds like the Treme series. Lot's of stress down there.

Not a big day here. Catching up on 4 tons of mail and cleaning up the car were my most notable accomplishments. Cooked out on the grill tonight and it feels pretty good to be home.

Good evening Villagers!

This past week has been a very emotional one for me. I have a close circle of friends that I have been riding with for years, we have all been in such a daze this week that the ride we've planned has slipped up on us. I will be gone for a couple of weeks .. we planned to go riding before all this happened. We decided that it would be best for all of us if we continued as planned, this will be our therapy ride. President Reagan said something once that horse people truly understand ......
"There's nothing so good for the inside of a man as the outside of a horse." Ronald Reagan

All day I have been hearing a song over & over in my head.... I have to share it with y'all since it really sums up all we need to know about living, gotta love Sweet Baby James ... and I also have to say ... I Love You Man

So I was skipping through the Funville page and onto the BC4 page where I looked through the excursions for Glory.

Anyone have any thoughts yet on what mnight be a ggod thing to see or do in the ports?

Perhaps the Dune Buggy Adventure
Description :Feel the thrill of driving a dune buggy around the island - Grand Turk style. Duration: 2 Hours

Wow, could you guys quit typing so loud?? I have a headache from having way too much fun last night. I went to this seedy cowboy bar to hear my son's band play. I think somebody was buying me shots of something, but I'm not sure what it was. Anyway, I got home around 2:30 and just got up.

TC, I think going off riding with your friends for a couple of weeks will be good for you. Have fun and relax.

I kinda like Scurvy's list for Grand Turk and St. Thomas. The Margaritaville sounds fun and I really want to go to Megan's Bay beach. I'll probably get off the ship and walk around a bit in Nassau, but I've been there, done that and wasn't impressed. I'm kinda hoping that the blogger's excursion is in San Juan, since I don't know what to do there. I usually try to stay away from the ship's excursions, but who knows? Right now the dune buggy thing sounds awful......wonder why that is? I'm sure it would sound like fun if my head wasn't pounding.

Anybody got any good hangover cures??

Good afternoon Village People.

Have a good ride Baby! Be careful out there.

Pretty much same for me on excursions-Nassau is so quick. I'm actually trying to see if they will let us have a cocktail party that day. Just a thought, we have to be back on ship by 2:00.

Yes, I've just come in from cutting trees. We did three sessions, two yesterday and one this morning. I'm beat. Too old. Cleared a lot of cedar and had two burn fires going. It does look very good though. Always adding land. I do have some news I'll hide here in middle of post as I shouldn't be mentioning it yet. A rep from a cruise line was really trying to contact me yesterday, but of course could not. It seems a major cruise line that has never sailed from Texas before may have serious plans to begin sailing from either Galveston or Houston in 2012. This will be great for all especially those of us in Texas. An announcement may come in less than two weeks. Anyway back to the trees- there will be more room for the deer that usually sleep in that area. The fawns are getting bigger, they are about the size of Bambi now.

Rangers baseball today. They can win the Division Series today with a win. The team has really improved since Nolan Ryan became team president, it's not longer a Mickey Mouse operation. Maybe the team can continue it's winning ways, sometime it seems they win with Magic.

Linda: Sounds like you had fun, I hope you didn't act too Goofy last night.

Be safe TC, but have fun and remember, they are in a happier place

Linda, you poor thing. I hope you had a good time..I also hope you remember that good time. Did you get drunk just because? Or did it sneak up on you?

Good day Glory Villagers!!!

TC--be safe and enjoy!!

Ray--aaaah you didn't procrastinate!!!! Deer are so cute, and the little bambi's are so cute....

Well, I have one advantage of many of the folks in here...This will be trip the third cruise in a row to the same (3 out of 4) ports and the fourth total (three of the four went to Half Moon Cay).

Nassau--I want to do a island tour that allows for time to see the sights and not just whiz by in a vehicle...you know, get out, snap a pic or two and then go on our way..not snap a pic on the fly and hope to hell it turns out OK. It's gonna be a short day, so got to pack it all in before noon!!!!!

St. Thomas--I have done Coral World and it is OK. I did the Colonial St. Thomas and shopping on the last cruise and it was good. You get a nice drving tour to the lookout point and then back down to the Rum Factory/museum and down, down, down, down to the various historic sights along Government Hill before endng at downtown Charlotte Amalie for shopping and a free, and short, ferry ride back to the ship. Tis cruise I think it will be getting off the ship late and walking to Paradise Point and getting a bushwacker or two, or three!

San Juan--I will gladly wait for the free shuttle that does the loops to the two forts and stops in Old San Juan. Did this twice and it sometimes can take a little time, but FREEE is FREE!!!!!!! Get a free map and info at the green tourist booth opposite the #1 trolley stop.

Grand Turk--Not the prettiest of islands outside of the cruise center. We had a golf cart and for the life of us couldn't find the historic downtown where the pretty houses and such was located, we did find some of the historic sites and some shopping, but it was clearly, not what one would call a downtown.....nope......We did have the dune buggy's take off and go on their way when we were getting the golf cart. They look like fun....I did Gibbs Cay and Stingray tour in January and Gibbs Cay was marvelous soft, white sand beach and the water was amazing....You can explore the island too and look for discarded conch shells...

Grand Turk Beach--The water is wonderful, but the beach area/sea floor on the side with Margaritaville is ROCK and it is not easy to get in and out of as you can't tell the depth of the water and the other side, I was told, was a sandy bottom.

Grand Turk will likely be hanging by the pool/or beach for a good part of the day!

Margaritaville--extremem patience is required, and I mean extreme!!!! It took 20-30 minutes to get our drinks ordered and made......it took her 10 minutes to make the drinks for the person before me....and do bring ID with you if you plan on using a credit card to order drinks......they ask for ID......

I wish time would go faster, I want it January to be here quicker!!!!!!

It's not everyones cup of tea and I wouldn't go to Fla to sail them, but I will give them a try if they sail from Texas. It may keep the Carnival Magic fares from getting too high too.

Me too, Scurvy. But of course if this group is going, I'm in.

Well, I'm feeling a bit more human now. I finally figured out that I had a headache yesterday as well, and it was more from allergies than anything else. So I took some sinus meds and voila! I'm sure getting my butt into the shower helped as well. Now I'm off to do some grocery shopping. Good thing Trader Joe's has a big wine and beer selection.

Liz, I do remember my good time. I was probably closer to pleasantly buzzed than dog drunk. Let me put it to you this way......I could have still made the gravy. I think my downfall was the shots. I found out they had Southern Comfort, Amaretto, and a dash of half and half in them. I gave my last one away, they were pretty wild!

MGA, thanks for all the tips for the ports! I have only sailed from Florida once and it was my very first cruise in 2002. Nassau is the only port on this itinerary that I've been to.

Snoozey, good job with the trees! And I think your idea of the cocktail party on Nassau day is a good one.

Good afternoon, all you happy Villagers!

Just thought I would see what everyone is doing today.

TC, enjoy your ride. I agree that it is the best thing you and the group could do.

We are in the RV with a new group of CRAZIES! Tonight's dinner is Garbage Can Dinner! Speaks volumes, doesn't it? Actually it is a bunch of different fresh veggies, layered with sausage and ham, and steamed. Should be yummy.

I had to make a batch of my World Famous Margaritas, and I have just finished a couple. Now I'm trying to decide if I need a nap, in order to stay awake for the Chinese auction tonight. That is where you bid on items, sight unseen! I'm telling you..... CRAZY!

Ray...... Oooooo, you are full of interesting news! I heard that rumor before, but it was passed off as a confusion of names..... Very interesting!

Anyone know when Mike and Carole will be returning home? I hope they have had a great time. Looking forward to all the details.

Linda, be careful of that hair of the dog that Scurvy is suggesting. It will reach around and bite you in the butttttt!

Not sure what we will do in the ports. Not too keen on Nassau, so we may just stay on the ship. Especially since it is such a short duration. I'll look into it more next week.

Guess I had better go see what is happening... Later!

Wow.... Okay, This thread is hopping. I am having problems keeping up lol.

I remember when I did my first meet and greet off of one of these type of sites. It really made my first cruise. And actually to this day I still keep in contact with one of my Canadian friends. Its been almost 5 years I believe since I have seen her and she is trying to cruise on this cruise, so I am pretty excited!!!

You all seem like a really fun group. You guys will be a hoot!!!!

Well Mom (deb2543) is off camping. It's been perfect weather here in Missouri. And I didn't do much this weekend.

What did everyone do this weekend? Hope it was great no matter what!!!!!

Take CARE!!!!

Good morning Glory Village People! I'm feeling much better this morning compared to yesterday!

Darlene, you sound like you are having way too much fun! You sure have a lot of interesting friends. How was the Chinese auction? Did you end up with anything neat?

I was trying to remember what I did in Nassau all those years ago. I remember having to experience the straw market. I bought a really cute handbag for my mom....then came home and saw the same bag in J C Penney's for less than what I paid! We walked around the casino in Atlantis and one of the employees told us about a beach we could walk to from there. It was nice and we enjoyed that part. Then, if I remember right, we were going to get back on the ship and some woman had tickets for the Yellow Bird booze cruise that she was giving away, so we did that. That was tons of fun, but from what I've read they aren't in business anymore.

Has anybody been to San Juan before?

We were there but it rained almost the whole time. We ended up finding a casino and killing some time in there. Then we went to the liquor stores on the dock. IIRC, someone tell us if its still true, if you buy liquor at certain stores there on the pier you can keep it with you vs the ship taking it and returning at the end of the cruise.

The fort seems to be the bigger draw. Dad spent some there 20 yrs ago. and he said walking the "Old San Juan" area was what he did.

I have never been to Nassau, so that ought to be interesting..The one place to do a tour for me is this port.

Cindy--welcome back!!!! This board is moving isn't it..... I do hope you can get your other Canucklehed friends to come so you can have someone a little closer to your age to party hard and shake that booty. I'll try, but after a certain hour I turn into a pumpkin and you'd have to take me back to the cabin and put me to bed...**....I'll be up fresh as a daisy before 7am ready to tackle the day and maximize my fun!!!!!!!

I need to know if any of you know how to make time go faster or make my bank account suddenly have enough money for three cruises a year in it.....

Nah I don't need someone close to my age. It's all good. A day at sea is awesome any way you look at it

Time is flying by for me but that's because I leave for a cruise in 68 days. When I return I will be going "oh crap I need to think about the February cruise" lol. Sounds PERFECT TO ME!

I am taking a few first timers on my December cruise. Pretty excited because they have no clue what they are in for! Oh makes me want to start making my packing list lol.

Hi I'm Cindy and I have a over packing problem hee hee

Yes several times. Land based and cruise visits. Nice place, Old San Juan (OSJ) is the place to tour. You can walk most of it and you can walk from the ship terminal. Lot's of cool bars and nightclubs. They have the bar that served the original Pina Colada, it's a nice restaurant now and close to the Cathedral. There's also bar that has great mango drinks including a Mango Mojito. I'll look up the name on my blog, something Parrot, I believe. Casino is close. You could take a taxi to El Morro (fort) and walk back as it would all be down hill from there to OSJ and the ship.

Three or four times. Never found anything overly exciting.
Toured OSJ and the forts. Had some excellent mojitos at a sidewalk cafe and found $1.50 beer.
