So.......a little birdie told me that someone here is going to be on the Glory a week ahead of us to get it ready for the Village People. Why do people feel the need to show off by booking back to back?? Here's a hint......his name starts with Snooze.

Too far to fly without doing something else. I wanted to try MSC or something different, but decided on Glory. Tried for week after B4 since Mike is on it, but cabins didn't work out and I thought I could help the group better by going week prior. There will be so many groups on B4 that I can lobby the matre'd for better dining room tables.

Hey-shouldn't these posts be on Glory thread?

Wait.......Mike's doing a B2B on the Glory too?? Linda, true I wanted to do the Paradise but to close to my sons wedding, I was getting looks from Carole. Traveling from California cross country 7 days is not enough time. I am hoping some other people will opt to stay on an additional week. Plus I have no doubt I will need the rest. Mike

Linda, it,s called retirement. Before I retired I was only able to sail once a year at best, and even then only when business allowed. So now it is a case of time and freedom. There has to be something good about getting older right! Mike

I hear you, Mike. I'd do it if I could. It really is a long ways to fly for a 7 day cruise. I have been saying for years that I would not fly to Florida to cruise again. But here I am!

The really bad part is that I absolutely HAVE to be at work that next Monday. So I'll probably get into Sacramento around 10 or 11 pm Sunday night and then still have a 2+ hour drive home. Woohoo!! I must really like you all to put myself through that!

Linda, I did not like to tone of my comment. I tried to change it but waited to long. Sorry, I think the B day thing has me bummed out. I need to start thinking more positive. Mike

Hmmmmmmmmmm

I know it is a long time away but has anyone thought about going in the day before (or not) and where to stay?? Will there be a pre cruise get together? There will be lots of other groups at BC4 so it might not be a bad idea to think about booking early. Ideas ?????

Coming from CA, I'm definitely going on Sat. I wouldn't want to miss the ship! Not sure yet if I'll try to fly into Miami, or Fort Lauderdale.

If it is MIA the Holiday Inn at Bayside is a good choice. Walking distance to all of the restaurants & bars at Bayside and close to ship. We also have a discount code. If it is FLL there is a shuttle service that will pickup a group and transport to the pier at a reasonable cost. Hotels are usually higher in FLL but someone may have discount info for FLL.

Hey All Mo here- We stayed at Rays this past weekend and somehow with all the drinks flowing, we booked this cruise. Have been on a few with the Snoozman! and before that, met Linda on the Grand Princess in 04.

Linda We have to work Monday, too. And would like to fly in Saturday, Holiday Inn sounds good. looking forward to meeting all. We sailed from Miami only once on the Imagination-short cruise hubby won with co workers. rest have been out of galveston cuz it was easy and inexpensive

Welcome Mo! Glad to have you join us! If you like Ray Ray and Linda, you will probably like the rest of us .. I think we are all realted sisters and brothers from another mother!

I've been comparing flight times and prices for about the past hour or so. I'd love to fly Southwest, the best option with them is to fly into Ft Laurderdale on a Saturday. The where to stay? and transfers from the airport to Miami? I have not looked into yet. I think we still have some time though Southwest hasn't opened booking past January 7th anyway.

If the lottery comes through I will do the B2B before AND after the Glory if not .. oh well just the 1 week :???:

Oh BTW Mike, I don't think most of us knew you were responsible for our cocktail party on Conquest .... Thank you so much for such a great time!

TC

I wonder how long my retirement money would last if I just quit now and cruised all the time.

I looked at everything from 4day to 7 day out of both FLL and MIA. I really wanted to do the MSC cruise, but it goes to the same ports as B4. I liked the 5 day to Key West and Coz, but there was a 1-2 day gap. Just decide to do the Glory. I have a cabin as far forward as you can get on Lido deck, with the same view as the bridge. I will go from far forward to far aft. Thought I'd at least try something different.

Hello Mo & Jerry,

Welcome to our merry little group.

Scurvy-we stayed at the Holiday Inn Bayside once before. Nice location with Bubba Gumps etc. Can use that code if thats where we end up this trip.

As a Texan (it's a Texas company) and former stockholder (long time-until it went private) I have had good luck with LaQuinta. I see that the Airport LQ has both an airport shuttle and a port of Miami shuttle. I have enough points for a freebie, but can't use it on a Saturday in Miami--the rate is fair enough at $107.10 especially if the shuttles are used.

I've still been comparing airlines, flying in on Sunday is not a good option with Southwest since they fly into Ft Lauderdale not Miami. Saturday is not bad, and is looking more and more like the best choice if I stick with Southwest. They haven't opened booking up that far out yet, but just comparing other Saturday and Sunday flights to & from New Orleans, the price ain't bad either!

Scurvy I will need that code, maybe some of the other ladies flying solo will be willing to share a room Saturday night.

I almost have a friend from the Conquest convinced to go on the Bloggers cruise with us. She lives in Oklahoma and would have to fly from Oklahoma City to Miami. From what we've looked at so far there are some really bad connections with 2 + hour delays between connections. But the final answer is still out on that one. If she can work it all out, y'all will like her she was a lot of fun when we were at Margaritaville in Gr Cayman.

The gal in OK could drive here, then I'll drive to Amite, then you can drive to GA, then Scurvy can drive to FL. That would be a car load.

Hey All Thanks for the welcome! Laying low this weekend Jerry had back surgery in and out of there in hours back to work in days!

Since Holiday Inn is one of his accts maybe he can get discount coupon to use-will have to see.

Want to do a snorkle trip in grand turk or somewhere-any ideas?

Hi Mo

Best wishes to Jerry for a speedy recovery. Hope H/I will give a discount to you guys but if not there is a tiny one that we are using that might help. I'm more of a lay in the shade type but we do have some snorklers so maybe a trip can be planned.
