I braved the elements and went shopping today .. probably as crowded as black Friday, but the deals are MUCH better and I needed more egg nog !!!!
OK ... we've gotten through Christmas, next is New Years then it'll be less than 2 months until we be cruising
The G-babies are on OVERLOAD ... it was like a gift frenzy beginning Christmas Eve and not ending until last night. My daughter ... bless her heart ... goes through all the babies presents and hides a bunch of them to give to the kids later in the year when they need a reward, or if another toy is lost or broken. Not really a bad idea considering how much they get, they couldn't possible play with everything.
It's going to be ccccooolllllddddd tonight, expecting temps in the low 20's ... I am ready to be on some beach some where with a fruity little drink in my hand
Phil ... I love all your research, but I'm just going to have to go wherever everyone wants to ... there are just way too many choices for a 6 hour day. Woody's looks nice though!

Happy Day after Christmas everyone! I agree with Scurvy "I am ready for it to be gone and 85 degree temps
with Margaritas and white sand. " We have not had any snow, but one hell of a lot of rain. I am not a winter person I am soooooooo looking forward to February. While I am thinking of it Don and Darlene, and Scurvy and Kay have great cruises. Happy New Year to all! Mike

Do not worry about the Saints being cold. They will be in a nice warm place tomorrow night....
Inside the Georgia Dome.
In fact it might even be HOT in there with those pesky Falcons.
I'm going to spend the day with son & DIL today, they're going back to San Diego on Wednesday ... it has been a hectic week for them but today we just hang out.
I go back to work Tuesday, I think working 20 hours per week won't be so bad ... and I can change my mind if it gets to be too much. Until then it's CRUISE money Nothing like spending it before you get it :|

Scurvy, I have no doubt it is going to be hot hot hot in the Georgia Dome tonight! Both teams are psyched up over this one, Falcons would win the division if they win this game, Saints would have home field advantage as a wild card team in the playoffs if they win. Not to mention how much the media has blown way out of proportion Roddy White's comments on Twitter A lot of people realize it's just game trash talk, but a lot of others took it as a slam against the city of NO. I just hope both teams play like adults and there is no foolish behavior It is just a game!

Bummer. No offense, TC, but I'm sick of the Saints. It's somebody else's turn now.
Ron, how are you feeling?
Well, I'm trying to entertain myself. I really hate having time off if I don't have a vacation trip planned. Sunday I took down all the Christmas stuff and cleaned the house. Yesterday I ended up going in to work for a couple of hours, did some exchanges at the mall, and then went to the gym for the first time in a week and a half. Today I have another thing I need to exchange and then I think I'm going to see The Fighter. Anybody seen it?
So what are the plans for New Year's Eve? I usually just stay home, but this year my younger son's band is playing at a local bar, so who knows? Or maybe I'll stay home and babysit the grandpuppies. After all, they might get scared when all the noisemakers go off and midnight, they might need their grandma!

Well all I keep hearing around here is I told you so--that is about the ex 49'er coach-- my son kept saying that months ago-------
No plans here for New Years--except to stay home and keep warm--and drink some champagne---even before midnight----- gosh I dont even know if I'll stay awake --but no worries the neighbors will wake me up just in case I do fall asleep-----
gotta take the dog out for his walk----and then head off to work-- ohhh what fun--
Linda- I'm on the road to recovery-Thanks for asking.
New Years My father always said you must have pickled herring for good
luck in the new year, of course in wine sauce! YUM! Maybe it was an alibi as
my mother hated it.
John Heald's take on the airline delays should be entertaining. I do hope he
wasn't sitting on the tarmac for hours. I think he was scheduled for today,
but they are a few hours ahead of us in the UK.
Today was the first day back at work part time, wasn't bad at all. I no longer have the stress I use to have to put up with, only working 20 hours per week, and can go to the house whenever I've had enough! ;-)
The New Year is only a few days away, I still can't believe how fast time flies when you get older, it seems like just yesterday we were all worried about the impending crash of all world computers in the year 2000

Linda, I can not take offense at your opinion, because you are entitled to it!
However it IS the Saints turn right now ... in their 44 year history they have only had 11 winning seasons, these were not even consecutive seasons.... 33 seasons the Saints & the fans were an embarrassment .. "The Aint's" , the die hard fans wore paper bags over their heads at the games. The last couple of years they are finally a team to be recognized for the improvements they have made. This year every team wants to beat them, which is typical of wanting to beat the defending champion in any sport. Unlike the Dallas Cowboys who have been to the Super Bowl 8 times and won 5 times ... the Saints have been once, and won once .. they most likely will not make it this year, they aren't even number 1 in their division, I personally can not be sick of a team who after so many embarrassing seasons is finally a contender.

Ron I'm glad your feeling better----take care and rest up-- I think we all need to do that for this Glory cruise------
Football----sorry its not for me---darn I wish I understood it-----but its a big thing and out here in CA-- its all about the 49'ers and the Raiders----well in my part------since I'm so close to both area.
Ok so I plan on following the village people around to whatever bars or beaches that suit their fancy---
I just wish it was time to cruise----I miss your happy smiliey faces and wonderful sense of humor ------

His flight did land in NYC only an hour & a half late so thats not too bad considering.

Let's just agree to disagree, ok?

And I will agree to disagree but on the side of Linda, Texans deserve a shot as well as many of the NFL teams, it would cheer up Galveston after Ike.:-) I just don't agree with the wildcard thingy,,those that win the most should be the ones to play in the big game.
Moving on....has anyone decided exactly WHAT we are doing as far as excursions? I wish John would tell us what they have planned so we could plan around it.
Scurvy: Pinto beans? That's very Texan, but on New Years it has to be Blackeyed Peas and cornbread. Southern tradition. Within a 200 mile radius of Fort Worth many also serve chow-chow with the Blackeyed Peas. We do.
For those in the little group: SAVE THE DATE: 2/28/2011 - Monday 2:30-3:30 pm in the Cinn-a-Bar (Piano Bar) on Promenade deck. This is just after sail away from Nassau. I'll have more information, but can't post it here.
Got an email from Mo--she wants to do the STJ Trunk Bay/Duffy's thingy too.
Phil is right, it would be nice if we knew where the Bloggers excursion was going to be held. My GUESS is Grand Turk, just because it would be the easiest for them--no transport involved.

It's OK Snooze, lizandphil, philandliz, we are one in the same. He always knows what I want, and I try to figure out what he is thinking !
We will be having the black eyed peas as well. I saved the ham bone from Christmas dinner to cook them with. Along with the cabbage, gotta have the green for the money.
Strange how every part of the country is different. When I was in Ohio it was hot dogs and sauerkraut
Your making me hungry---- I was going to make a ham for dinner---maybe I will do it tonight and yes I had planned for Michael to make something with the bone----- he is a good cook and even cleans up after himself----
On December 29, 1845—165 years ago today--Texas was admitted to the United States as the 28th state after nine years as a Republic.
Liz & April--We have guests coming so I bought a ham yesterday that I'll do tomorrow knowing I can use the rest for the blackeyed peas on Saturday. I actually have a nice rump roast cooking right now for tonight. Snooze the chef!! That's what happens when your married to a vegetarian. I have to say that my turkey and ham at Christmas were great!!
I'll spare the photos (I have them of both), but the deer hunter shot another wild pig two days ago. This one was much closer to me (my neighbor), but a lot smaller, he's going to cook this one. If you want something much bigger, they had a Bison hunt here in Bosque county this past weekend. I don't do it, but hunting is a big deal around here.

We have a mixed dinners -- having vegetarians in the family too----
Ham for dinner tonight-----and yes I'm cooking----
cheers
April
we had a pork roast and stuff squash for our veg. on Christmas----
Oh so I'm getting a bit excited about this upcoming cruise and printed out my Fun pass and luggage tickets------------ ohhhhhhhhhhhhh how nice it is to finally see the VIP print out---
Scurvy does yours say Milestone ???? you lucky dog you--hahahaha
Well heck, this will be my 10th cruise overall, but only my 4th with Carnival. I may never get to VIP at this rate!
All this talk of New Year's meals.....we've never had any sort of special meal that day. I guess my family was weird. Which would explain a lot about me.
Yesterday I ended up spending all day watching a marathon of Friday Night Lights episodes on Netflix. So today I went to see The Fighter. It was a good movie, I enjoyed it. I always like the ones based on true stories, and Mark Wahlberg is a cutie.
Tomorrow is my only work day this week and then I'm off again until the 4th.
Hey Ray, tell Mo to get her butt back on here and post, or we're not taking her with us to Duffy's!
