Glad you are joining the crew on the Legend. We have about 20 of us from DeLand going including 2 of our 4 sons and one of our grandchildren. It is the sons and grandsons first cruise. We can't wait. Where do you live in OB? I used to live on Fleming Ave close to Central Park. We also have a bunch of people we have met on cruisecritic.com coming on this cruise. We are going to have a meet and greet on the Sky deck around 6pm on embarkation day to watch us go under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, The ship clears the bridge by about 12', but it looks like it is going to hit as you approach the bridge. If you aren't doing anything, why not come up and join us. We will also be up on the Lido Deck before and after muster drill having a few adult beverages and getting acquainted with people on cruisecritic.com and others in our group we don't see very often. Seriously, look us up. The more the merrier. I will have a leather Stetson on with several Carnival pins in it or a Pittsburgh Steelers ball cap on. Not sure what Laurie will be wearing yet. Any idea on what excursions you are going to do??

Hi Mike! We're 2 blocks off the river near the Riviera. Small world! Will try to meet you under the sky, but may be tagging behind my daughter exploring the ship. It's her 1st cruise and my 2nd. I know she's going to be looking for the sushi bar! ! You will know us by my daughter. She will be the gorgeous girl with blonde hair to her waist. I know your boys won't miss her!Ha! Ha!
Stingrays at the caymens. Looking at Coral Breeze tours for a snorkel/stingray day at Caye Caulker in Belize. Heard anything about them
or that tour?
Don't know what we are going to do in Roatan. May West End? We love the water!

We are doing reef and rays in GC and the Lost Canopy tour in Belize. We will be scuba diving in Roatan. Lets see a gorgeous blond and we have a 22 and 27 year old sons with us. Hmmmm, yep, they will probably notice her first. It takes about 2 hours to get to the bridge after we set sail. JUst a thought. If you aren't doing anything come join us.

"The Blonde Daughter", Marina, which means "Of the Sea", and I are doing
Rays, Reef and Rum Bay through Native Way in GC and Caulker Caye
Stingray/snorkel Belize. Don't know what we are doing in Roatan yet. Maybe hire a driver and check out the island? Unfortunately we are not divers, just
snorkelers. My daughter wants to dive but I don't know if this is the area to
learn.
Any ideas for Roatan would be GREATLY appreciated. Bet your boys will be wanting to teach my daughter how to scuba!! !

This is what someone on cruise critic said:
We took a taxi from town to the Mayan Princess Hotel. Getting off there, you can snorkel from the beach. Tabayana Beach is very near and the best snorkeling is just in front of Tabayana. You need a bracelet to use their facilities, but the water is not privately owned. We have done a lot of snorkeling and this is the best we have seen. We are taking our third cruise to Roatan so that we can snorkel again. It has been the highlight of our trips!
It's our first time there,so I can't help you. I know approximately where you live. I used to have some friends that lived in that part of Ormond.
The boys don't scuba. I'm not sure what they are doing in Roatan. Maybe they can take beginners scuba with Marina.

O.K. Mike! I just booked a tour with Victor Bodden in Roatan. Personalized to go the the Mayan Princess Hotel. Marina can go "wild" and mom can kick back! Just kidding! She's a great girl and this is going to be a WONDERFUL
cruise! I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family. That's what makes cruising so much more fun! You get to make new friends and have a few days to spend with them, which usually turns into years of friendship!
I need these posts to get me through the next 10 days!! !!!!

You are right about cruising and meeting and making friends, We met a couple from Nebraska last year on the Freedom and they will be with us on the Legend. We are booked on the Dream next year and they are thinking about booking it too. My son says since Marina is from Ormond, he will take care of her in the Disco for you. I thought that was rather nice of him. Don't you?

I'm sure she will want to dance the night away on some the "at sea" days, and it wont be with mom! !
Can you tell me what the Legend is like compared to the Glory or other ships?
Gotta go to work!UGH! 10 more days!

Momma don't dance???
The Legend is smaller than the Glory. It is a Spirit class ship. Unlike the Glory that has theatre style seating on the Lido Deck, the Legend will have 2 pools with just a little seating around them with a stage in the middle. At least that was what the Miracle and Imagination are like. The Legend should be real easy to navigate around. You can come with Laurie and me and I will get Adam to show your daughter around ...

! Momma does dance, but will probably sit this one out and let the
young ones wear themselves out! We "old fogies" don't want to crowd their
space! Ha! Ha!
Theres a great "photo Legend tour" on carnival connections that I checked
out. Good pics of the whole ship except staterooms. Check it out.
9 more days!!!

Yepper, single digits now. Only 9 more days. Woo Hoo. The balcony's aren't bad on Spirit Class ships. We like ti hit the piano bar. If the piano player is decent then a good time is had by all. Been known to do the night club too. I believe the night club on Spirit Class ships is a two level club. Nice....

Hey Mike,
Just read a post on carnival connections, under Legend "stuck at sea".
The May 3rd Legend which is at sea, did not stop at Roatan due to labor
uprise/dispute there!
I will be VERY disappointed if we go from 4 ports, to 3 ports, to 2 PORTS!!!
I'm going to e-mail Victor Bodden in Roatan and see what I can find out.
Will let you know.

Supposedly the Legend was in Roatan yesterday. A bunch of folks on cruisecritic.com have been watching it closely. zi heard the Volor did not go into Roatan this week. I called my PVP yesterday and she said if something happens in Roatan the Legend will probably go to Jamaica. I think it will still go to Roatan. Apparently Victor Bodden sent a letter to all of his upcoming guests to assure them everthing is OK. Let me know what you find out and I will let you know if I hear anything.

I will be wearing a red shirt, a pair of madras shorts and a brown leather hat with Carnival pins in it. If it gets to hot, I might put a t shirt on. We should be at the pool on the Lido deck once we get on the ship. And of course, we will be on the Sky Deck after 5. Hope everyone that reads this stops to say hello and Happy Birthday to Laurie and have a DOTD.

Talked to my PVP today and he has not heard about anything on Roatan.
Still a go as far as he can tell?
My son moved home Monday for 2 months (leaves for Austin in Aug.)
My daughter had commencement last night (Yipppeee!)
And MOM is ready to hit the seas!!
Sunday feels like a year away....
