Funny I can't remember if I ever caught a fish. I did go fishing with my father. It always blew my mind he would come home and tell my mother what as great time he had, I was there nothing happened.... Not raining but cold and windy today, feels more like January than the end of May.... I missed this one so a late Happy Anniversary to Ray and Terry. Busy week next week. Take care all, Mike

Hey everyone! I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth but have been laying low for a while. Have not felt well in over 6 weeks ... not really sick ... just not "normal". Over the past few weeks I've had more medical tests than I've had in my life, the Doc says that I am "normal" (yeah right ) I went horseback riding Saturday for the first time in months .... I am still sore today :???: Leaving tomorrow to go visit my son in SD for 2 weeks, looking forward to that. I wish there was a cruise involved like the last time I went but I guess not .

I'm going to miss y'all on the November Magic cruise, I guess next time I think I'm going to book a back to back I should triple check the dates then I wouldn't have to make such painful choices as this one was .

Mo & Jerry ... BOOK THE BLOGGERS CRUISE!

April ... book your hotel rooms! That's one of the first things I do after the cruise is booked, that way there's no scrambling to try and find a room later. You can always cancel or change it up to a few days prior if need be.

Happy anniversary to P & L, and happy days to all!

TRUDY! I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling better! This has been going on for quite a while! It makes you want to shout at the top of your lungs "Something is not right! Fix it!" Hopefully, what ever the problem is, will disappear and mysteriously as it appeared.

Phil and Liz.... Happy Anniversary! What a great way to spend it! Isn't the cabin WONDERFUL! It is so cute and cozy, and so very comfortable!

Yeah, MO! Glad to hear you will be joining us in March!

We had a wonderful time on the river. DS, DIL, and PGB joined us Friday. Saturday we went to the outlet mall in San Marcos. It is HUGE and has all the good stores! I bought a new pair of sunglasses (yep, I'm stylin') and a couple of pairs of shorts. I also got to buy a few items for the kiddos, since we have a big trip coming up! Came back here and grilled fajitas with all the good stuff to go with them, including margaritas, all the while enjoying the river. It was a great weekend.

We are new ready to head home and get everything in order to leave in a week! WooHooooooo!

Everyone have a great week!

April, South West does fly to Texas Hobby. I was not able to get a direct flight from SFO but we made one stop going and returning. Let me know if you can get a direct flight from San Jose. That would be worth the extra miles. Take care, Mike

I know we had to stop in Phoenix for another cruise-- I think that one was for the Bloggers out of NO--------we called our daughter who lives there --not enough layover time to meet up----but we did afterwards---stayed there for a few days post cruise-----

Cheers
I'm ready to go NOW---

I don't think I can get a nonstop to Hobby from Sacramento, either, but I'll check when the dates open up.

Darlene, you guys have to come home from vacation to get ready for vacation?? Sounds like you're having a great time.

TC, hope they figure out what's going on with your health. And have a great time with your son.

Poor April needs a trip soon. Too bad you're not off on weekends.....I'd meet you in Reno!

April, that sounds like a similar route to what we did last trip. We did not change planes in LA just picked up people. We did change planes in AZ on the return trip. I might call South West, to see what our options might be. Take care, Mike

I'll look for some cabin photos. It's small, but very nice.

What they haven't told you is that if you stay in the cabin you have to do some ranch chores!

The chore part is true, but my chore was to watch Maisie, had Phil not been out pulling a tree with Ray, I would have loaded her in the car and drove away as fast as I could. mmmmm, come to think of it, I could have left Phil behind

Haha, tough job, Liz. Did that include making sure Maisie didn't roll in anything nasty? Or dig a tunnel to China?

How's everybody's weather doing? Those storms are sure scary! We're back to rain and ickiness, but no tornados! I know summer must be out there hiding somewhere.

Most storms have gone just north of us. We are still very very dry.

Weather lesson for the day: In Texas the weathermen always talk about the dry-line. That is the line where the very dry air of west Texas (and beyond) meets the humid gulf air coming from the south. This line is generally between 100°-97° west longitude. This is were the vast majority of all thunderstorms in the United States begin. The ranch is at 97.49 W so we are within that range. We have lots of storms develop here, but they don't become severe until they reach a bit further east. They can develop here and cross the U.S. as they travel east. I saw the nasty one that hit Tuscaloosa develop right over the ranch. That's one reason that we can be dry here yet it can be very rainy and storming just a few miles away. Yes I was required to take weather as a Physical Geography major at Tornado U.

Also explains why we have cactus on the ranch. The dry-line also is an unofficial border between the arid/desert and wet/humid soil types. We are so very close to that dry-line we have a mix. Phil & Liz saw some cactus in bloom.

I got up too early this morning.

Wow, Ray, you're full of information this morning! Thanks for the weather lesson, it was really interesting.

How long until your festival? Isn't it coming up here pretty soon?

"No unusual weather here. Just Hot." We have light rain, and I could use some hot. Hard to believe we are this close to summer and can not seem to warm up. To quote a friend, "I have had about all the Global Warming I can stand" Mike

The only chore I did was feed the goats (Mo Mo) carrots by hand and get another beer out of the ice chest.

And I'll never forget the time we were all in the kithen and Terry told Ray, "You're not wearing that, are you?" He dropped his shorts right there, I about fell over laughing. I dont think Terry anticpated that, then again she lives w him, she knows how he is

I didnt go to half of those parties (napping) and we still couldnt keep up! Mo we will be at Rays June 24th-already filled up freezer w burgers and steaks to take (sorry Terry its gonna be a meat weekend!!!) But she'll make Jerrys fav corn casserole I'm sure---awesome just corn, cream cheese and splashes of mikl baked in over 1/2 hour-see ya party people

April, I HOPE you had fun, as long as you are able to play awhile with their money that to me is winning. MO, I can get over Ray dropping his pants, I think Ray has a wild side that is lurking just below the surface Hmmmmmmm I am thinking that is how he put this group together..... Windy and cold today in Nor Cal, I just took the flag down before it blows away.... It will be another layered clothes night for me... I am looking forward to the (OR) our local pub this evening. A friend on ours is planning a trip to Europe, his first, and I am having fun discussing the different things he might want to see, do, etc. To be honest I am recommending a land tour for his first visit. Loads to see and some what limited from a cruise ship. Carole and I had three land trips to Europe before we started the Cruise business... I love cruising but not the easiest way to see Europe. Having said that we did see a lot on our last trip using private tours guides. Have a great weekend all, Mike

Well Mike, I hope you're getting a little bit sunshine for the next couple of days before the rain starts up again. How was your night at the pub?

I'd love to see Europe some day, but I don't want to deal with that long flight. I need to do a TA cruise both ways!

Another place I'd like to see is Hawaii. That's a way shorter flight, so maybe I'll actually get to do that one!

Has everyone here been to Alaska? I don't like being cold, but it sure looks pretty!

Hi Linda, some sun here but very windy. Hard to believe it is almost summer. I had fun at the pub last night. Ted and I talked about his up coming trip, I think I enjoy the planning almost as much as the trip. I think I had to much beer the birds were stomping on the lawn this morning.... I agree with you I don't like the long flight to Europe, and the time change is more difficult the older I get. Hawaii, is a good flight only about five hours. I am hoping at some point the gang will decide to do Hawaii from LA or San Diego.... Alaska is one of my top three cruise locations, not a sun/ beach location but beautiful. I don't think it ever gets hot but the summer weather is nice and normally only a light jacket is all you need. Mike

Hi All,

Yes Linda would like to spend more time together. We would like to get to know rest of the gang, too. It was a whirlwind time and went by too fast. Lokking forward to the next. Red FRog Pub looks cool.

I have not been to Alaska. I want to go, SP doesn't.

I'll sneak up there somehow.

I'm with you, Mo.....Red Frog Pub sounds great! Maybe that should be our new default meet-up place. They have an outside area, right? It was great having a place to check for the rest of the gang when we didn't have anything planned together. And I'm thinking my first drink on board (always a pina colada) should be a Caribbean Colada from RFP. With a dark rum floater, of course.

Ray, we'll work on SP. I'm starting to soften on the idea of an Alaskan cruise, maybe she'll be more excited about the idea if all of her sisters were going.

We went to Alaska, it was not THAT cold, until we went up White Pass into the mountains. We went in September so we could cruise all 5 fingers of the glaciers. We sat on our balcony , drank wine and took in all the beauty they had to offer. There is nothing like it.

We want to do it again, but this time in early spring so we can see some wildlife. We did see a lot of whales playing as well.

I agree Liz, Alaska is beautiful, and not as cold as one might think.A light jacket is all that was ever required the end of May.... I think a group trip to Alaska would be great, I will miss our July trip this year due to timing issues. Another cruise I hope the group considers is Hawaii from LA..... I would not do it agin just Carole and I but would if the group went.....
