"Our one tomato plant on the back patio was blown over and will have to be nursed back to health." Scurvy, now that the sun is out our one tomato plant is actual starting to grow...I hope your plant recovers. I think they are hardy. Mike

Scurvy, hope the storm has passed and everything escaped major damage.

April.....I hope you survive the visit! It sounds like your grandson is a handful! Just remember, they will be going home soon.

Today I saw Lincoln Lawyer. It was good, I think I liked Water for Elephants better. Can't believe the weekend is over already! Wahhhh!

Is November every going to get here?

Mike, what's in your forecast? Ours says 108 on Tuesday!

It's been HOT here for weeks. We make the jump directly from winter to summer, seems like overnight! I could take the weather n San Diego any day it's so nice there! High today is 94 with the humidity & heat index that's about 107

The past few days have been really eventful for me, had to make an emergency visit to the vets office on Sunday morning. (I hate to guess what they will charge me for that one) My oldest dog was gagging all night long Saturday, and about 6:15 a.m. the vet called me back & said to meet at the office. Whatever she was gagging on she must of finally swallowed because x-rays didn't show any blockages, She has been just laying around ever since, she did at lest start to drink water, and ate a little bit of food this afternoon. Who really know what was wrong, all I do know is I was worried sick about loosing her too.

My girlfriend with the breast cancer has been back in the hospital for a week now, (she had a double mastectomy & reconstruction at the same time) she developed an infection in one of the breasts, they had her on IV antibiotic for about 5 days, then on Saturday decided they would have to reopen, remove the reconstruction & clean out the infection, then start over again with new reconstruction. She is doing well, but is very weak, and very depressed, keeping her in your prayers can only help. Her name is Wanda.

April??? I thought you were happy with the 1A on deck 9 Changing your mind is your RIGHT as a woman I was considering an inside cabin on Spa deck if I decided to change

80's?? Heck, that's wimpy weather, lol! We've been over 100 all week. Darn, it's just a bit too hot to sit in my back yard after work now. Feels like Texas!

April, you go, girl! I love it that we never know where you'll end up until we get on the ship! I've heard great things about the cove balconies. I like the sun, so I'm not sure they're for me. But I'm very intrigued by them. You know that if the weather's bad enough, they seal them off so you can't go out there, right? I doubt it happens often, though. Ray is booked in one on this cruise, I think, so we can check it out.

TC, glad your dog is doing better and sending prayers for your friend Wanda. My life is so boring next to yours, you always have some sort of drama going on. All I do is go to work, go to the gym, and come home. Blah.

Thanks April & Linda!
She was able to come home today, still pretty weak, but in much better spirits. This is one of my riding friends so naturally one of the first things she asked the doc before being discharged today was how long would it be before she could ride again

Hi guys, I wonder if you get high sea water coming in the cove balcony? They seem close to the water.. I have been on a ship with waves and water hitting on the promenade deck and it was high off the water. I am sure the people with port holes were seeing green water out the window... I have never heard of St Arnold's beer, is it an Eastern thing? I have not met many beers I did not like..... I doubt the Ex Gov has had any time to drink a beer much less make one.... I wonder what the Hell he was thinking, I think that was part of the problem very little thinking going on!!!!

It's a Texas beer. I get the St. Arnold's Army newsletter. It's good. There is a small Fort Worth brewery that's very good: Rahr & Sons.

You know it's already been over 100° here for two weeks. And it won't go away for a while either.

We picked up the new puppy last night. She's a sweetie.

We had a cove on the Dream and there was never a problem. The Caribbean is usually pretty smooth sailing. I don't think you would ever have a problem with sea water unless it was a hugh storm on a trans Atlantic crossing or something similar. On those occasions they would close the weather doors.

Linda, not to much, go out to dinner with daughter and sister in law and then to the OR our local pub... Linda, did you do NOLA with the group Blog 2? I don't remember, it was my intro to the group. It was funny how we all kind of found one another... If not that is one the group should do again.. Great food, music, and site seeing....

No, Mike, I didn't meet the group until the Conquest, so I've only been around for 3 cruises with everyone. But my second cruise ever was out of NOLA, and I agree.....it's a great place to sail out of. So that's a great idea for another group cruise!

I hope you have a great birthday weekend, you deserve the best!

So I'm watering my flowers in the back yard tonight, and I see movement out of the corner of my eye. There's a cat laying under one of my lawn chairs, and I see something white moving. First I think it's got a mouse or something, then I realize it's a mama kitty with 3 kittens. Awwwww. The poor cat is a little tiny thing and skinny as a rail. I'm not sure why she decided to carry her 3 babies into my back yard (6 ft. fence around it), but there she is.

I texted a picture to my sons and they convinced me to run up to the store and get her some food. She just wolfed it down. The boys want me to keep them all, of course. No way I want 4 flipping cats! But I'll give her some food if she's still out there, I feel sorry for her.

And that's my excitement for the weekend. How about you?

Awwww .. poor kitty! She probably isn't much more than a kitten herself if she's that little. Good for you for getting her some food. If you have a no kill shelter in your county, call them & see if they'd take her & the babies in.

Thanks April & Linda and all you guys for the Birthday wishes... To be honest I am happy to have it past. I don't need another reminder that I am getting older... I had to laugh someone sent me a note saying life is like a roll of toilet paper the shorter it gets the faster it goes.. Hmmmmmmm. This might not be the best analogy but an element of truth...

, that's great Mike! And very true. I have realized that everything my parents told me was true. I just thought they were old, but no....they were just passing on their wisdom. Now my kids think the same thing about me.

Well, this morning the kitties were still there and I fed the mama again. But when I got home from work, they were gone. You'd think she'd get sick of moving them around all the time! Probably for the best, though.
