Carnival Magic October 2011
 

We're seriously thinking of doing the Magic cruise from Barcelona to Galveston and maybe the cruise before :). John Heald will be the CD. Anyone else?

my last messaqge to you, I'm sorry I thought you said you were going in May, so I will look forward to meeting you. we're in room 1239 I think on 6th floor. My husband has parkinson's so I'm coming with a girlfriend. We are 60 but we're young at heart. I'm going to try to go scuba diving if weather permitting, I saw it on the shore excursions on our last stop. I haven't decided on any of the other outings, do you have any suggestions? cindy

Hi Cindy, cabin 1239 is a deluxe ocean view on Deck 1. Does that sound right? We're in a Cove Balcony cabin on Deck 2. I've been looking at shore excursions, too. We like to do the "easy" or "moderate" excursions that don't last all day. We just run out of steam :shock: !

Do check out that other roll call area I sent you. It's full of people!

When I saw your FB post I came over to see if you started a roll call. Are there 3 of us from CM on the TA?

We can have our own little party!!

The RC "otherwhere" has been going on for over a year. I just don't understand why our RC's don't take off :(. (Although this is the most active one I've ever been on :shock:!)

There's a few busy RC's but not many.

The ones on the dark side are not without their politics. Getting a little ridiculous with their "secret" FB page and at least one misspelled website. :p

In case you missed it, there was some "drama" :shock: about who was in charge of the group (in order to set things up on board). I stayed waaaaay out of it!

Things seem to have calmed down now, thank goodness :)!

I didn't miss it or stay out of it. rofl

Things on the surface may seem calm, but it is still boiling just below. :p

I remember John mentioning it on his FB page now that you mention it. I guess some people want to be in charge of everything. :cool:

I can feel that "boiling", too :eek: ! That's one reason I don't post on the FB site very often. Actually, I think that it used to be open to anyone on the cruise, then someone from CC decided it should be a closed site :(.

I just plan on enjoying our cruise!

I should be open to anyone on the cruise. The appeal is that it is NOT a CC group.

Yes, it should be open, but it appears to be another CC group (why we need two is a mystery to me!).

Maybe we should start our own "open" FB site???

Okay, I'm having to admit that I'm ignorant about oversea flights :( . I'll say that I've asked this "elsewhere" and had NO answers that could help!

We have reservations at Continental Barcelona for the night's of October 14 and 15. I'm confused :confused: about when to book our flights from Arkansas (Central Standard Time). If we book airfare from LIT (Little Rock) to BCN (Barcelona) we see that we leave here on the 13th (CST) and land in Barcelona on the 14th. Is this correct??

Some things I'm very good at, logic, not so much! I appreciate any help I can get!

Please respond as if you're talking to a child who doesn't understand English :eek::eek:!

Almost all I have seen are overnight flights, you lose so many hours to time zone changes, it just works out that way. So yes you leave on say the 13th and so you would arrive on the 14th.

Two days early are smart you'll basically sleep that 1st day and you can site see on the 2nd day.

Thanks so much! I've really been worried about this :(. Time changes make my head explode :shock: !

The flights I've seen leave on the 13th late in the afternoon and arrive in Barcelona about 9 in the morning. I just hope we can get into our hotel (or at least leave our bags) that early.

I'm copying what I posted on the Carnival Thread:
"I just read that John Heald won't be the CD on the Magic while we're cruising :-(. It's not a "make or break" deal, but I'm very disappointed :-(. We had him as a CD a long time ago and were looking forward to seeing him (and Heidi and Kye) again. Maybe the "beards" at Carnival will change their minds?

Hi all, we've found a European cruise we like better :shock: on Princess, so we've cancelled this cruise. We'll be cruising the Magic next May.

Glad you found something you like better! Try the magic in March for BC5.

I thought about doing the BC5, but we're really not "joiners" so chose the other cruise's (doing B2B Eastern and Western Caribbean in May).

I'd looked at the Princess cruise before and the fare was about triple the fare for the Carnival Magic cruise! The price has come waaayy down since then :)!

I hope we can sail together someday :D,
