A cheap one in a pretty color with a good stereo.

The one I have that the lease is up on is a burnt orange Kia Spectra SX. Of course Kia will do just about anything to keep my business, so I've driven a couple of theirs. I kinda liked the Forte EX and the Soul +. I think I like the Soul + better, but it kinda seems like it's a car for kids, and I hate to look like I'm having a mid-life crisis.

I hate making decisions.

I thought the Soul looked like a pretty cool little car.

Am I having a mid-life crisis ??

Phil, what formal wear, that is one of the things I love about Carnival if you wear pants you are formal. I still can't get over wandering around the Casino after the PJ party in PJ's and no one noticed, or if they did they did not care. Mike

The good news is it will match your shirt! Color is never an issue in our house she will only buy black cars. I managed to talk her into a light interior on the last one. The last small car I drove that was a blast was the Mini Cooper. It drives like it's on rails, and fast. I still want an old step side truck or El Camino. I do look at El Camino's all the time and the ones I find are to good, car show stuff or to bad. I am looking for something that looks good not great, that I can run to the hardware store and garden center. Take care, Mike

hello everyone....

what the car status I-1?

It was really hot in Texas today.......we had a screech owl land in our fountain last night. I've never seen that before. I guess he needed to cool off, he hung around for a long time.

Relatives are going to mind the ranch while we are cruising. Going to have a round-up next weekend and take a bunch animals to market. if we can get some rain it should be pretty easy around here.

Phil, I was kidding, I wore a jacket last trip on Carnival formal night. I only plan to bring TB shirts. No coat or tie. I think for the Med cruise in October I will, bring the tux, it is more formal in Europe. To be honest I kind of like dressing down. I did enjoy the formal dress, but with the packing rules and weight limits it is difficult to bring suits and coats. Take care, see you in a few weeks, Mike

Well......I still haven't done anything. But I'm leaning pretty hard toward the bright red Kia Soul. Especially since they said they would keep my payments the same or lower and I wouldn't have to put any money down. All that and a killer stereo?? No brainer, I'm thinking.

Although a few people at work said "Ewwww!!" when I mentioned buying a Soul.

Did you guys see the pics of the QM on John's blog today? Woohoo, I got all excited! Yes, it doesn't take much.

hummmmmm and others just plan and go on cruises----

Scurvy you looking for a car too ????

I'm just thining about one---decisions decisions---2 door or 4 ? and as for what kind-- I haven't a clue---money--??? hummmmm that depends if it would cut into my cruise and casino money----naw----not a chance of that-------- I'm not into cars ---and I really dont drive too much----and at least Michael is happy with his truck--that is before the just started to make you have the diesel ones smogged too----not a happy camper with that-----there goes that savings------

cheers

Hey, Mike, I tell you what...... You leave your jacket at home and I'll leave Don's jacket at home. I ordered him a new TB shirt, so y'all may be twins!

Linda, I agree that I used to really stress over packing, but have figured out that ir isn't a big deal. If I were to wear the same 2 outfits the entire cruise, I doubt that anyone (including my DH) would notice. Speaking of packing, I guess I should start thinking about it! That clock is shrinking! WooooHoooooooo!

Good morning Village People
Ok so no worries about packing--- yeah right-- well at least I will give it a try----funny I always say that--
Kind of laughing about the Paradise one-- my sister in law is just brining a carry on---after all its just 4 days---my daughter on the other hand ???? same 4 day cruise but thank goodness Southwest doesnt have that extra baggage fee---??????
even funnier that swimsuits really dont take up that much room---especially if you dont bring one ????

Poor Kay----- I'm just beginning to think about getting a new car--no real issues with mine---just age-----low mileage 57,000 for my 98 Grand Prix GTP---but I remember what happened when I need one------and didnt have a clue as to what I wanted----ok Linda I feel for you too--at least you know you want a nice stereo------and color------

Hey Darlene --how are you feeling ??????

Ok Phil and Liz------all unpacked yet ? and any plans to sneek Max onboard with you--- or your sister-----

cheers

April, I'm feeling well. Getting adjusted to the CPAP -- I've had it 4 nights now.

Regarding car shopping, we have a 93 Honda Civic with 251,000 miles. It was Don's work car, so it spent many days at the BP plant and was "puked on" daily with whatever the flavor of the day was. It looks awful, but still runs good and gets good mileage. As soon as something major happens, it's gone. We have been talking about the Honda CRV. Color, Don likes white (booooorrring!).

Darlene, the CRV is a great smaller SUV, I like Honda's and was thinking about that one for our daughter Lorraine. She likes the FIT, and is interested in the new CRZ coming out the end of August. It is a small sporty Hybrid car that would be good for her commute. There seems to be a lot of car action going on I think that is a good sign for the economy. Carole and I made a car change about a Month ago more on that later. See you guys in a week plus. Mike

Thanks for the good luck wishes and yes good news on my moms tests was really good to hear!
She was supposed to start taking insulin but said NO-- right after she got the perscription filled----- that was about 3 months ago---and when she went yesterday---- all her blood counts were in the acceptable range---------today was a different doctor--neurologist-------
Thats one reason I alway buy travel insurance-- not because of me-- more so my mom--since I'm the main care giver-----she doesnt drive--thank goodness- so lucky me gets to take her to all the doctors appointments etc etc--------not complaining----but it's just a fact-----

cheers

April, travel insurance is a must, cause you never know what life will toss your way! Your mother is very fortunate to have you. It is good that she has your "ears" during the doctor visit, and your input, when necessary. Enjoy your road trip, win lots of money, and come back and get ready to cruuuuuise!

April, I am glad your mom's test results were good. I'm sure that is a relief!

Darlene, so you are adjusting to the C-pap :???: Do you see any noticeable difference in your sleep since you've been wearing it?

I know that y'all are planning to share a shuttle TO the QM on the 28th, but what about those of you not staying on for the B2B, have you made plans for the return trip to the airport on Sept 5th?

Wow, you guys have sure been busy! Chatting up a storm!

TC, congrats on your last day tomorrow!! Woohoo!!! And in answer to the shuttle question, yes, I already booked my ride back. I just did it online at Primetimeshuttle.com.

Yes, Darlene, inquiring minds want to know more about the C-PAP. Or gee, we could just wait a few days and ask you in PERSON!!!!! And what is a TB shirt????

April, best of luck at the casino (again). This time, could you actually come home with a big exciting win to tell us about? It would make the time go by a little faster.

Well, I saved the best for last. I got my bright red Kia Soul tonight! Heck, I got out of there with no money down and my lease payments lower than they were with the last car! Woohoo! It's such a cute car! And am I glad I am through with all of that.

Yeah Baby! Snoopy is doing the happy dance for you! Congratulations on the new car!

I may have to look into Prime Time Shuttle for the trip to Union Station after the cruise. Amtrak has a "bus" that takes you from Long Beach to LA Union Station but the timing sucks
