We are actually boarding in Barcelona on Sept 21st! We are anxiously looking forward to depart for Barcelona on the 18th. We have been to most of these ports before & look forward to all of them! We found most of these ports very easy to travel on our own, but possibly planning private tours for one day in Naples & Florence to outlying towns. Also we have not heard alot about the Emerald. We both love the Movie Under The Stars, particularly during sea days.

I have been browsing and looking around and I think that we will take a tour only to Naples... Rome and Florence we might only take the ship transportation to the cities and back... all of the others will be on our own... oh Barcelona is SO beautiful .. I am counting the days

Hi Irene,

I'll be getting on the Emerald in Barcelona for an extended fun time to Florida. Have you been to the Ilse of Carpi off of Naples? It's beautiful! There is a shore excursion going there for the whole day, should be way fun. There is also an on your own Rome excursion that includes an open top bus ride to all the sights. Florence is wonderful as well with lots to do there.

Thanks for your comments... So you are sailing on the 21st from Barcelona and extending your cruise up to Ft Lauderdale? Woww! So eventually we would meet! That is fun!

I am trying to look into my excursions and I am precisely deciding in Naples what to do... I want to see Pompeii but all the people say that Capri and Sorrento are great places to see... HELP!

For Rome and Florence, we are booking only transportation to the cities and from there on our own, we know both cities quite well

Hi Irene,

The Isle of Capri is the best of the Naples area, it is soo beautiful! My cruise goes to Naples twice. I have signed up for The all day Isle of Capri on the first round and Pompeii on the second which is when you will be going as well. Let me know what your going to do in Naples and I will join you. Which excursions have you chosen for Rome and Florence, is it Rome on your own and Florence on your own? I can join you on those as well since you know the cities well that would be great! In Barcelona I signed up for Barcelona on wheels, it's a bike ride through the city. What will you be doing in Barcelona? I'm traveling alone on the cruise and it would be great to explore these places together.
