looking for people sailing 12/28 on the freedom. huge ship. there must be many out there!!!! love to hear what excursions people are taking. time in san juan is limited. not sure what to plan there. looking for advice.
thanks everyone.
We love San Juan and are on the Serenade on March 7th.
My favorite places to visit are the Fort in Old San Juan. The absolutely gorgeous Catholic Church downtown old SJ, you never know what will be happening there. Beautiful weddings, model shoots, JL and Mark Anthony were married there and we were there when they had healing services. Also watched a parade in front of it. One great local place to eat in old SJ is the Puerto Rican Cafe. All the locals love it. We love looking at the architecture and we shop for bargains in town also. There is a casino at the Sheraton if none of this sounds like fun.
If you have time there are wonderful beaches on the other side of the island, but it takes a while to get there.

While in San Juan this past November (FOS cruise) we had a marvelous dinner at a locals restaurant that was within walking distance of the ship. Google El Jibarito San Juan. I had a veal stew with a side of mofungo that was absolutely fantastic. The prices were just as fantastic too!
