Anyone on this sailing???

I know you posted this a long time ago, but if you are talking about the 12 night Greece and Eastern Mediterranean, then YES my husband and I will be there! It will be our first time in Europe and this will be our third cruise (second with Royal Caribbean). We're going to fly to Rome a couple of days early. I keep checking the 'Countdown to Cruise' marker, we're finally under 100 days!

Wow, I really never expected a reply from my post for it was a long time ago. We are also on cruise critic.
This is our first time for Europe and we also are spending a few days in Rome before the cruise. We booked a bed and breakfast for three nights pre cruise. Where are you staying?? Lets keep this going! |
Yeah, I wasn't sure if you would still be looking for a response after all this time :) . I only booked this cruise at the beginning of March and I just recently thought to look here to see if anybody else was going.
We're staying at the Crosti hotel in Rome, also for 3 nights pre-cruise. I found it on Tripadvisor, it's a small boutique hotel near the train station. We plan (perhaps naively) to take the train from the airport to Rome and then to the cruise port. |
We also found our place on tripadvisor. It is the Casa Franci on villa della stazione di san pietro. Do not know if it is close to where you are staying but will look it up on a map of Rome. We are taking a car to the cruiseport for after reading about toting the luggage on the train we are too chicken. People from cruise critic are planning with us to do Angel tours while in Rome. A walking tour. Look it up on the internet and see if you are interested. There is a few couples who are only taking the 18th cruise staying in Rome the 3 days prior so we are trying to get together. It is exciting meeting people that you chat with. Go on cruise critic and sign up for the meet and mingle.

Pity those of us who only get to do one cruise :D . Unfortunately we could never get enough time off work to do both, and we had a really hard time deciding between the two.
A kind person on one of these boards posted detailed instructions on how to get to the cruise port by train, there are even pictures. But I could certainly be talked into sharing transport with someone, I don't crave adventure *that* much. I think I will skip on over to cruisecritic and see what you all are up to :) . We are totally into walking, we were planning to just bumble around Rome on our own anyway. Have you used Google Earth to look at places you're going? It's a hoot, we've seen pretty much exactly where our hotel is. I think we're a fair distance from your B&B, we're over by the train station and you are closer to Vatican City. But it looks like a really nice place, great reviews! |
