I am planning to be on board. Actually I am traveling with a small group, most of whom I've probably met on other trips. But sometimes its good to meet people outside of your group!
Awesome! Yeah, it is definitely nice to meet people outside of your group. I am always up for making new friends. I make many good friends every time I take a cruise! I will be in a group of about 13 from Alabama. Hopefully we can all meet up?!! It will definitely be a great cruise!! So have you ever been on a cruise? Have you ever been to these ports?
This will actually be my 5th cruise, with the same group by the way; this time around there will only be about 40 of us; we've had as many as 120 on different cruises. But this cruise is longer/more expensive. The last few cruises have been RCCL.
I have been to Venice twice before, and parts of Greece, but all of these ports look really good.
Will this be your first cruise to that part of the world?
40 people???....That is a huge group!! hahaha Sounds like y'all will definitely have alot of fun.
I have been to Venice before, but it wasn't a cruise. This will be our first cruise out in the Mediterranean. All of the cruises I have been on have been to the Eastern , Western, and Southern Carribean.
So what is your group like? Ages? What types of things do y'all like to do on cruises? So y'all drink? Party? As for us, we like to make new friends, drink, and have a great time!! I noticed that you are in the medical field...what do you do, if you don't mind me asking. Our group consists of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapist, and a nurse anesthetist.
Well, I think our group is at around 35 right now...we have had as many as 120 on past cruises, all have been to Carribbean locations.
This will be my first cruise experience with Venice; the other two trips were with european tours.
As for this group...oh, yeah, we're drinkers, party people. For other cruises we have had our owm DJ's and reserved one of the clubs for our private parties. Logistics prohibited those kinds of events this time around. Damn.
My group consists of accountants, medical personnel, engineers, lawyers, government employees, mba's, authors, private consultants, corporate ceo's, software designers...oh, and at least one tatoo artist. And we are all members of the goth culture.
I will always consider myself a psychiatric RN, though I currently work on a brain injury unit at a hospital.
Your group definitely sounds like a fun group!! We should definitely meet up and start our own party in the corner of the club or something! Funnel some beers.....drinking games...we're game for whatever!! Tattoo artist also eh? Awesome! Too bad he/she won't be doing some work while on the cruise? I'd get another one! I'm hoping to have the one I want for my back put on before the cruise!
LOL...this group is self-entertaining; we travel together because we provide our own amusements. We are not likely to be hooking up with other groups though. Speaking just for me, I was curious about what the other passengers might be like; occassionally we encounter people who
are more like us than not, and they might get an invitation to join us, if we are having our own party. But the focus of this trip is more on the destinations themselves and getting more out of those experiences. It should be a very interesting trip! It will be the first time I've spend more than 4 days on a ship...
Yeah, these destinations sound and look awesome! I even bought a brand new DSLR camera just for this trip and decided to take photography up as a hobby.
I usually end up taking several cameras and take way too many photos.
One of our group was posting some info on our site about crime concerns in some of the areas. I generally like to do my own thing, but might have to hook up with others just out of safety concerns. I'm still considering what excursions to do.
Well, since I've been to Venice before, I am looking to do some things I haven't done before. Then, again, it's been a long time since I did the gondola ride, went over to the Lido, people watched in San Marco square, that maybe I want to do some of those things again. It all depends on when I get into Venice, how much time I will have.
Then, I'll be staying in Lisbon and I've never really wanted to go there, but since I will be there, I want to make the most of it and at least do some kind of city tour. But I really want to go to Sintra. And to Fatima, though I'm definitely not a believer. But I do enjoy visiting mystical places, and places with possibly high energy vortexes...whereever I travel I like to check out the paranormal/ghost/ufo etc. related phenenomena in the area. Mainly I am looking to see and do as much as possible in each port on the cruise.
