Hi Linda, My trip in September, So'ton to New York was as smooth as glass. It was epic for me as I lived in So'ton till I was 15yrs old and frequently saw the Queens up close and personal ( sometimes in drydock) Emigrated to Aus, in 1953 and always vowed to take the trip on one of the Queens to New York, out of Southampton, so it was a real thrill to finally be able to do this. I shared with a friend and we had a balcony the side the Statue of Liberty was on. We were dismayed when we appeared to pass her in pitch darkness, and couldn't take photos, but were cheered again because we went just round the point and stayed with her in our sights for about four hours so we had our fill of her and photographs.
Mary is a lovely ship, but felt the interior was a little 'solid', it is more like a mens club than a ship.Very Sedate. Loved the library, best ever.
Where are you based?. I still live in Australia. PeggyD
