Default Forum upgrade

Dear Cruismates Members,

We are pleased to inform you that in a few weeks we will be giving our Cruisemates forums a major face lift. We will be upgrading them to our V-Bulletin forum software. This software is owned and licensed by Internet Brands and has already proven to be very successful on our other sites. It will greatly improve the management of the forums, making life a little easier for our hard working moderators. It will include built in features such as photo galleries and social groups. It will also give you more PM space. All the current forums and sub forums will be transferred over and remain in the same order. No information will be lost.

Please remember to write down your username , password and sign up email, that you currently use, for the forums. You will need this information once V-Bulletin goes live.

Stay tuned for more updates coming your way from either Paul or myself.

Thanks,
Steph

I know the staff is really excited about this. Just in case anyone doesn't already know, the message board software we are converting to is now in use by another well-known cruise site online....

It just happens that Cruisemates' parent company, Internet Brands, owns the software that the other cruise site uses for its message boards. IB is responsible for the development of the functionality of the boards, etc.

This means that users who are used to the system "over there" and find our message boards confusing (something I have personally never understood, but that I have heard about from others several times) should now find our message boards entirely intuitive and familiar.

I hope and expect the transition process to be easy - all we ask is that people remember their login usernames and passwords.

If you have forgotten your passwords - you should check your initial "welcome" email given to you by Cruisemates, as it is contained in there. Don't click on the "forgot your password" link - that can change your password if you follow the link given on the resulting email.

Nothing I say should be considered factual or my personal opinion unless I specifically state it is such. Thanks for understanding!

Default Change Your "Favorites" and "Bookmarks"

When we cutover to the new boards you may receive an error if you access the Message Boards from using your Internet Explorer, "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" from other browsers you will need to delete them and access the Message Boards from the Home Page of
http://www.cruisemates.com

Click on the Message Board drop down menu. Once you are at your favorite forum you can add it to your "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" and access the boards the same way you always have.

Take care,
Mike
