snorkeling

We are going on a cruise in November to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.
I'm a novice snorkeler and I panic a bit if there are any waves to speak of. Is the Costa Maya Beach Snorkel offered thru Celebrity Cruises fairly "wave-free". I wondered if its protected by a reef. If anyone out there knows what snorkeling excursions are the easiest ones in those destinations, I'd love to hear about it!.
Thanks

Hi, I wanted to tell you to pack a Coast Guard approved lifejacket if you are not planning on taking an excursion and if you want to play a bit in the ocean. We needed one for our 5 year old and borrowed one from a glassbottom boat tour in Mexico - but they didnt' want to part with it. Also, the salt water is very bouyant and holds you up while snorkeling. I haven't been there in years but once you are snorkeling, you won't notice the waves once you get out past the shore- past breaking waves. Have fun!
