I know this is a topic that has had much discussion but I still have some questions. We will be in Cozumel in early January. It will be my husband & I & our 2 children - 5 & 7. My husband & I really enjoy snorkelling. Our best experience was at St. John's Island. We want something at least that good but we were hoping to find something even better.
From what I've read, I guess Playa Sol is definitely out. I guess it is between Chankanaab, Xel-ha, Dzul-ha & Eagle Ray (these are some I've read about). Any suggestions? I really don't need all the stuff like Sea Lion shows & motorized water toys, we can get that in the states.
I want the best snorkelling possible but also a place I can take our kids. They can swim & have done a little snorkelling in Florida. Thanks for your feedback.
Xel-ha. it is perfect for kids because the water is only about 5-8 feet deep, wihth tons of sea life....but, there is no coral in the water there, that is, right in that funky little inlet where the snorkleing is. we saw all kinds of fish and the water is calm, clear, warm and it's very nice area. feel free to e-mail me.
