We just returned from the 7-day Mexican Riviera Cruise aboard the Star Princess, and recommend a terrific new shore excursion in Puerto Vallarta called "Forest Canopy." After driving for about an hour through picturesque countryside and two small villages and then into the mountains, guests are taken to a high ropes course set up in the forest canopy. Each person is strapped into a rock-climbing type harness and then everyone slides on ropes from one platform to another built high up in the trees. There are 14 platforms, and then each person rappels down at the end. It's not for the faint of heart, but it was great fun for us and our children (ages 13 and 16)! The minimum age is 8 and the maximum weight per person is 250 pounds. The excursion was approximately $70 per person, and we still had time for a couple of hours of shopping and sightseeing in town at the end.
