Default history and culture on Pacific

Next year I am considering a cruise on the Pacific side of Mexico which includes Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Pueto Vallarta. Bars and beaches are not my cup of tea. As a matter of fact, on the Carabbean side, I just love Tulum and Uxmal Myan ruins and enjoyed visiting the "'real" Mexican city of Merida. Can anyone tell me about historical, cultural, or natural attractions or tours which would make the Pacific trip worthwhile.?

In Mazatlan, we took the tour of colonial villages and enjoyed it greatly. Mazatlan is not the most attractive town for tourists, in my humble opinion. It was good to get out of town.
