which line for 4 day cruise to Mexico?

I'm planning a short cruise with a 2 1/2 year old and his grandparents , age 70, new cruisers. Which would be better? Carnival or RCI? I've sailed on both but never for a short cruise. Carnivals rates are cheaper but is this particular cruise filled with partiers in February?

HB, I've been on Ecstasy, and did the Vision and Viking Serenade from RCI on that trip. I am *very* much looking forward to going on the (newly refurbished) Monarch of the Seas.

I think with the grandparents, I would spend the bit extra and get the Monarch.

I plan on taking her in January or so myself.
