Default Best Baja Weather

We are thinking of taking a Baja cruise and was wondering the best time of year to do so. What is the weather like in say, January - March? Thanks!

In January, it was about 68 and sunny in Ensenada. Next month, it was partly cloudy.

The rates will get great for January in early-mid December. We got an inside guarantee on the Monarch for $149 (including port) in January, and I went by myself on the Ecstasy in February and got that (with the single supplement) for $190 total.

I would avoid March -- that is the beginning of the rainy season in Southern California.

The weather is warm in the ports in Jan and Feb. Although we hit a lot of rain in Ensenada last January. Remember that it will be chilly on deck when you're out on the ocean at that time of year. March of '05 will be spring break (it's early next year).

happy cruising.

Also, Monarch is nicer than Ecstacy because it was refurbished recently. I've been on both, paid a bit more for Monarch but it was worth it.

The Paradise will be moving in September to replace the Ecstasy -- newer ship but same class.

Yes, I'm excited that they are finally switching in another ship in place of Ecstacy. I'm sure Harry will check out Paradise before I have a chance to, but looking forward to any and all reports.

We are thinking of doing Mex Riviera itin on VISION (Royal) Sept 05-late in the month. I know it may be very hot (we love it!) & possibly rain but do you think there's some chance of decent weather. Do hurricanes or storms hit during Sept Oct? It's our anniv & we can't do hawaii so thought this might be better odds than the caribbean. have never been down that side of Mexico What do you think?? Any encouragement would be appreciated!

Hi Hcat -- been a long time since I saw your name.

Anyway, a *chance* of storms in September from what I have heard but they have been hit and miss. I think online you can see average weather. I do know that it gets better every week in October for heat and humidity (we always book Halloween).

The Vision is great -- love the Solarium pool.

Hi Harry, I enjoyed your photos of Vision. We loved Enchantment so I think this will be good for us. Favorite spot was the atrium pool!. We will probably take the chance on late Sept.. Have posted mostly on Hawaii board but have decided to wait on that trip til we have more time & $$$. We are going to New Eng/. canada this Sept on Constellation , on Brilliance next spring to Panama Canal RT Miami & then will do Vision next Sept. Have you done any Hawaii cruising--if so what do you suggest????

I have my eye on the 14 night on Princess -- now its the Island Princess. Think we may go for that one next fall (and saving the pennies).

Have the Diamond booked for October 30th down to Puerto Vallarta in a a mini-suite.

P.S. I packed four 4 cruises at the beginning of the year, so I can't complain. (Two 4 nighters, one 7 nighter and one 2-nighter)
